The Color Purple

"The even-tempered amethyst, said to prevent drunkenness, also helps keep those born in February on an even keel. It brings peace of mind and drives away enflamed passions and worries."

Since February is coming to a close, I decided to focus on the color purple for this week. The color I think of when I think of February.
Above, is the lovely vignette of amethyst glass that my friend Diana and I created a few weeks ago on her mantle.

Diana has beautiful amethyst colored glass and perfume bottles. I especially love the one above.

This one has a little jeweled top.

Speaking of jewels, I found these images of an amethyst necklace and ring that I would love!

How beautiful is this!

If it's true that wearing amethyst keeps one on an even keel and brings peace of mind, then I would love to wear this necklace or the beautiful ring below!

Come visit me on Thursday to see my "Amethyst Tablescape!"

I'm joining Marty at A Stroll Thru Life for Tabletop Tuesday.

  9. I once ask my reader which color they liked the least and purple topped the list along with orange... I love both ... what does that say about me? Glad to hear that you got a little r&r too this weekend.

  10. What a lovely collection of bottles. All of them look in perfect condition as well. I am also loving the necklace and ring and since amethyst is my birthstone, I feel I am very deserving of either!

  11. I love that color! You have a wonderful collection@
I just bought some wine glasses at Villeroy and Boch in that color yesterday. They are closing their store here, the first one in the US. Very sad..the economy doesn't allow for such expensive items...I got 50 off...
I def will be back to see your table!

  13. Look at that beautiful color of that bottle collection and the necklace and ring are stunning. When I went to an acupuncturist last year he mentioned wearing purple stoned jewelry to maintain wellness. Must be something to it, huh.

  17. I'm guessing all of our significant others don't like your blog today.....the necklace and ring are scrumptious, and surely a gift giving opportunity is not too far away! Does Diana have some pieces that have turned a shade of purple due to being exposed to light over the years?

  18. Wow! Am I impressed with these gorgeous shots of the beautiful glass bottles! I tried not too long ago to photograph some crystal pieces that belonged to my in-laws. I was disappointed in the results. You captured all of the sparkle in these shots! So nice!!!

  20. The lavender glass is lovely and it reflects the light so beautifully. I had to take a second look at the amethyst ring setting. My wedding ring is the same style setting with all the diamonds surrounding the center stone. My center stone is a square cut diamond. A very pretty post!.
Take care and enjoy your day,
