Sundown and the Blue Hour

The sun is going down, the warm breeze is becoming cooler and the birds are doing their happy dance before sunset.

I climb the stairs to the balcony and have a look.

Looking west, the fog is starting to roll in.

In the kitchen, the last bit of sun is shining on the island.
Time to start dinner.

While Mr. A is barbecuing, I am trying to capture "the blue hour" with my camera.

It's getting darker and darker.....

The Blue Hour!

I finally captured it!

Light is fading.

Good night moon!

  8. Ahhhh....love the view. Something about rolling hills and oak trees. Switch the oaks for cypresses and sunflowers...and you're in Chianti. Tough call...love them both, but I think I slightly favor Northern California.

  9. Oh my gosh, Delores...You must be neighbor's of Jain from Once Upon A Moon, because I swear you BOTH live in Paradise!!! What heavenly vistas you enjoy!

Great job of capturing the blue hour. I've been trying but its been cloudy & rainy here for days & its just not as pretty as yours. Actually, NOTHING I could photograph could be as pretty as these photos. BRAVO!!!

  19. HI Delores,
Very, very pretty photographs, you have wonderful subjects - the landscape and your home are so beautiful! Love the blue hour - I was noticing it last night as we watched a bike race in town. But sadly, I had left my camera at home...
Are you up for a Wisteria trip soon?

  41. Oh, be still my beating heart! I'm a girl who loves to watch the light shift!!! You captured more mood than just the light. You take me back home!!!! (Okay, a lot of "!!!s", I know! =]) I'm from Pasadena and my Grandparents lived in San Luis Obispo for, well, for forever. My Grandpa built half of SLO! Boy, does this landscape take me back to my roots. I haven't been there for over 10 years!

    Thanks for sharing this,
