Peeking Through the Windows

It is no secret that I like to experiment with photography at night. It's always fun to see what I can come up with. Last night, I took this photo peeking in to our kitchen window.

Then I remembered that at various times this past summer I took photos of our house in Asti at night. So, here is a little evening tour of our house, peeking in through the windows. We'll play "Peeping Tom," if you will....

Let's start with the master bedroom above.

Moving around to the kitchen window, let's peek inside.

From the courtyard, looking in to the living room.

Another door, another view.

And through a living room window. A dirty living room window!

I like the mood these evening photos create, like being on the outside, looking in and wondering what that world is like in there.

That must be how these real "Peeping Toms" feel. On Saturday morning, about ten "Peeping Tom Turkeys" were on the steps, pecking at the door, trying to get in. I'm wondering why they would want to come inside the house? They are very determined to do so too.

Maybe they are curious about the decor!? Whatever, the little devils are getting on my nerves!

I'm joining Susan at A Southern Daydreamer for Outdoor Wednesday.

  10. You get an entirely different perspective looking into a house this way. I guess this is why I like to peek into people's homes when we take our nightly walks. The view into your home would make my evening! Lovely....

  11. Loved peeping into your home! :-D Seriously - Your home is so pretty. No wild turkeys trying to get in here, but do have a couple of squirrels, some birds, and a frog that have come up to the the door and looked inside. It is so dry here now, I suspect they are looking for water.
Thanks for sharing your pretty home. Have a great week.

  12. Dearest Delores,

You at least captured one thing that I love most: a golden light inside. That softens the atmosphere so much and it is so much more cozy than any harsh 'white' light! Good job.
Is that your dog; looking out to follow you?
Funny to spot your Spoon-Rack hanging on the wall in the kitchen; could have been mine...

    Sunny greetings from Georgia,

  28. Delores, I love the look of a home at night. There is such a different look with lamp lights on. I love looking at your home and I guess the turkeys do too. That is weird that they are trying to come in. Hey, you can save one for Thanksgiving. lol

  29. Delores, I love your photos. I was SO glad to see a dirty window, because that's what I had been thinking while looking at your photos..if I took photos like these, everyone would see my dirty windows. Apparently, you only have one window in two houses that is dirty. I'm impressed. I think those turkeys would get on my nerves too! laurie

  30. Hey girl!
It goes with-out saying how enamored I am with your Villa decor. When I relocate I will be going into a French villa style with a relaxed aged look and feel, holding onto some of the many pieces I have for the primitive French flea market appeal.

I am in total awwww! when I visit, and this does not do my heart well skipping beats with your beauty!

I am returning to take in some of your older postings to catch up with what you have been up to.

  31. Your pics really capture
    the emotion that you
    were hoping to evocate:
    curiosity at how the
    inhabitants live and
    also the coziness of
    the interiors. Made me
    smile to think of you
    creeping around the
    outside of your own
    house peering in through
    the lens of your camera!
    Lovely post.
    xx Suzanne

  32. What a fun post...great idea! I'm afraid my nosy neighbor would call the police, and then how would I explain? lol My sister had a very brave flock of wild turkeys visit her house on Thanksgiving Day! Have a great weekend...hugs...Debbie

  35. LOL! I wonder if any of your neighbors thought you had gone mad taking pictures from the outside looking in?? Or maybe thought you were a real burglar and almost called the cops?? :D Anyway, I love the cozyness of lamp lights seen from the outside looking in...it is such a warm glow. Your home is beautiful and has an especially warm, inviting glow! :)

  36. Several years ago I left a comment on your blog, but it has never appeared, so I just want to reiterate. I have many times over the years returned to this page and looked at these beautiful pictures. There is something just so fascinating about "peeking into windows" at night and seeing such a lovely home, so beautifully decorated. I appreciate that you have allowed us all a "peek" into your home; there's such a warmth that exudes from these photos. Beautiful!
