French Farmhouse Tea Towels

I received my French Farmhouse Tea Towels from Maria at The Growers Daughter a few days ago. She has an online Etsy boutique, and I just couldn't resist these great towels.

Three towels with three different sentiments, each with a red stripe.
Totally adorable!

I have such a weakness for kitchen towels! Talk about an inexpensive pick me up.
These three towels were only $15!

Here are three more towels, recently purchased at the de Young Museum gift store, of all places!

I washed this one. It actually made it better! What does Essuie de Vaisselle mean?
Well according to the Google translator, it means dish towel! Imagine that?

I'm joining Cindy at My Romantic Home for Show and Tell Friday.
On Saturday, I'm linking up to Laurie at Bargain Hunting with Laurie for Favorite Things Saturday.

  1. Delores, I once created a post just on dish towels myself, so I'm one of those who falls into the category of "admirers of dish towels". These French inspired textiles make me happy, too! ~ Sarah

  3. I bought some tea towels at a small town French market last fall when I was bicycling from Paris to Brugges. You just can't beat that French look, can you? Yours are very, very cute. Thanks for sharing.

  6. 'Faire la vaisselle' is to do the washing-up, so literally essuie de vaisselle is the 'wiper' for the dishes.

We adapted a Jacques Brel song to sing "La vaisselle, la vaisselle, la vaisselle commence a l'aurore..." washing-up starts at dawn, because we had no dishwasher there!

  24. Delores,
I, too, think that fresh dish towels make the kitchen more "dressed" for each season. My drawer is overflowing with lovely dish towel, but none are French. Perhaps in the near future! Thank you for sharing your newest collections!
