St. Patrick's Day Tablescape With Belleek

On St. Patrick's Day, everyone wants to be Irish! They say if you're lucky enough to be Irish, your lucky enough! So today, I'm pretending to be Irish!

To celebrate St. Patrick's Day, I set the table in the living room with Belleek, which was passed down from my Mother-in-law...

...as were the Irish linens.

The exquisite detail of the linens...

...the exquisite detail of the china.

I used a lovely apple green velvet remnant as the foundation to highlight the linens.

I dug the shamrocks straight from my garden, along with the moss to fill the little containers on the plates.

Silver plate chargers, flatware and bone handled knives complete the setting.

My cherished Irish linen drapes in the background make me happy!

Wishing you all a happy St. Patrick's Day!

"May the Irish hills caress you.
May her lakes and rivers bless you.
May the luck of the Irish enfold you.
May the blessings of St. Patrick behold you."

  1. Lucky you that you can dig shamrocks from your garden! Your MIL's Beleek collection is wonderful. You must be the favorite DIL ;o) My husband tells me that I am the favorite too. I chuckle at that, because I am the only DIL.

  18. Delores, your table is exquisite. What beautiful china to have been passed along for you to treasure. No daughters-in-law in my future, so I hope my nieces will appreciate some of the things I eventually pass along to them. ;-)
The Belleek china has such a delicate quality, and this pattern is truly special. Love the basket weave border. Is that a little bee on the top of the sugar bowl? Sweet!
Cute idea to fill the little bowls with your garden shamrocks.
Happy St. Patrick's Day! ~ Sarah

  36. Beautiful. I almost didn't want to come here today. Several years ago my fil took all of his mother's AND grandmother's china and sold it to a dealer. There were 7 complete sets of china. The one I loved best was this pattern and I was just sick-he never even offered to let anyone in the family buy it. I found out about it 2 or 3 years after the fact at an Irish shop when the owner told me that she was surprised that no one in the family wanted Grandmother's set...It still makes me sad.

I am so happy that you have a set to enjoy...you are a lucky gal! xxoo Diana

I have been inspired by your use of leopard print..
I am replacing 2 rooms wall to wall carpeting on 1st floor (which is mostly hardwood w/area carpets)...and am using Stark's antelope.....wish me luck!
I am finding that blogging takes a lot of time ...I haven't done in a couple of months.
