Rustic Gardens: A Feast for the Senses

To me, there is nothing more charming than a rustic garden.
The rustier, crustier, the better!

Let's take a peak at some rustic gardens from my inspiration file.

Southern Living
As we enter through the gate, the garden becomes a feast for our senses.

Visually...
Rusty urns, climbing ivy, old brick...

Terracotta urn, chippy paint and more climbing ivy...

Zinc containers, an old mirror, a vintage chair...

Hahoy
Terracotta floors and a painted table...

Country Living
Cobblestone path and barn wood....

A giant tree, metal chairs and a stone patio.
A feast for the eyes!

House and Home
Can't you just hear the sound of water trickling in this lichen covered fountain?

The sound of gravel crunching under your feet?

Gravel. Lending a rustic feel to any outdoor seating space, or outdoor dining area...

...and patio.

Sunset
Crunchy gravel. Always appropriate in a raised bed garden too.
A Feast for the ears!

Country Living
As we walk along the path to the arbor, the smell of lavender, thyme and rosemary is in the air.

Country Living
Overhead, the sweet aroma of roses.

Walking up the stairs, more floral scent...
A feast for the nose!

  4. I LOVE rustic components in any garden, even a formal garden is only complete with a chippy, charming, old statue and or pot. My favorite is old iron fence panels on walls or free standing as trellises -Thanks for this post...I am inspired by the photos you showed us.

  18. I have some weeding to get done, now I really want to get it finished and get myself out looking for an outdoor mirror! These pictures were such an inspiration to get out in the garden. I just had a load of cut bamboo stakes delivered, still thinking about what to do with them. Jules ♥
