Rustic Gardens: A Feast for the Senses


To me, there is nothing more charming than a rustic garden.
The rustier, crustier, the better!

Let's take a peak at some rustic gardens from my inspiration file.

Southern Living
As we enter through the gate, the garden becomes a feast for our senses.

Gravel. Lending a rustic feel to any outdoor seating space, or outdoor dining area...

Crunchy gravel. Always appropriate in a raised bed garden too.

As we walk along the path to the arbor, the smell of lavender, thyme and rosemary is in the air.

    These images took my breath away!!!!!! It is so frustrating for me to live in this wooded setting and not be able to grow the flowers etc., that i LOVE> I would give anything for a cutting garden! I just have to live vicariously through the internet:):) XO, Pinky

    I LOVE rustic components in any garden, even a formal garden is only complete with a chippy, charming, old statue and or pot. My favorite is old iron fence panels on walls or free standing as trellises -Thanks for this post...I am inspired by the photos you showed us.

    There are few things as beautiful as an old, mature rustic garden. They make you feel like you have stepped into a magical place, almost like a fairytale, this post is astoundingly beautiful!

    I have some weeding to get done, now I really want to get it finished and get myself out looking for an outdoor mirror! These pictures were such an inspiration to get out in the garden. I just had a load of cut bamboo stakes delivered, still thinking about what to do with them. Jules ♥

    Beautiful, rustic gardens make me miss my garden in upstate New York. I cannot grow all these wonderful flowers like lavender in SW Florida, but I can live vicariously through your tour. Thanks again for a wonderful post.

    Oh so beautiful! Those steps with the purple flowers were magnificent...they just made me want to sit down on a step, close my eyes, and breathe!
