Big Daddy Inspiration

When the "going gets tough," I go to Big Daddy's Antiques for design inspiration.
I'm on the hunt for something unique and original to hang over my kitchen island.
You never know what you're going to find at Big Daddy's, plus they can make just about anything into a light.

I got a little distracted with all the succulents they had everywhere, like on this wall of crates.

What a great idea to stack old wooden crates on an outside wall and fill them with succulents and votives!

You also never know who you might see at Big Daddy's.
I got even more distracted when I realized the singer, Chris Isaac was shopping too.
I should have asked for his autograph or something...

I just acted nonchalant and went about my business!

I got lots of great ideas for succulent containers.

Fun candlesticks!

I fell in love with this console table. It would be perfect in my daughter's home.
Unfortunately, it did not have a World Market price tag!

The coffee table and end table would look wonderful just about anywhere!
But I'm looking for lighting, right?

Great sofa, great pillows!

Love this chandelier, even though it isn't electrified. It would be beautiful under an arbor or hanging from a tree outside. But not over my kitchen island.
So the hunt continues. And that's the best part.
Next stop: The Alameda Antique Faire next Sunday.

  2. Fun fun fun. Glad you played it cool around Chris....I like him more now that I know he shops there. Don't World Market and TJ Maxx prices wreck it for regular shopping? LOVE that console too.

  9. Alrighty Delores,
I know you're the lady who has several chandeliers in her garage.
Did you check out your "in house inventory" first. Or are you like me - there's also room for another chandelier? LOL
Hope fun and good luck with the treasure hunt.

  10. Delores,
I, too, went "hunting" for inspiration at an Antique Mall today...for a centerpiece for the rectangular dining table on the lower level. Coming away empty handed, I turned to the BEST place for inspiration...your blog and others I frequent in the Land of Blog. You ladies, never let me down! Happy hunting for a light fixture, dear!
    Fondly,
    Pat

  15. I "need" a new chandelier for our breakfast nook. After lowering it to the correct position, I bumped my head on it one too many times breaking the glass stained glass design of it in several places. It's not that noticable, but I know it and I want and new "lantern" style that is so popular. But, I am thinking one that casts indirect light would be nice too. Not so "in your face" bright next time around.

  16. ....oh yeah, by the way, bumping my head on the chandelier came after moving the table to clean the wood floors...just thought I should clear that up...
