Happy Hour!

Vintage barware is a hot collectible at the moment, and I'm all over it!

I've slowly been collecting martini shakers, flasks, carafes, etc., found at various junk and thrift stores.
My criteria is that I don't pay much for any of it!

In fact, nothing cost more than $20 on this tray, including the tray itself!
I especially like the "vodka" bottle, even though it came without a lid.  What do you expect for five dollars!  I will fill it with water for now, like I did the little gin bottle on the left.

You see, the thing is that we're not really cocktail people.
I just love how it all looks, gathered together, waiting for happy hour!

The look I'm going for is masculine with a touch of tartan!

And the buffet in the living room is the perfect place to set up the bar.

It sits at the ready for happy hour!
I'll have mine "shaken, not stirred please!"

I'm joining Courtney at French Country Cottage for Feathered Nest Friday
I'm also joining Kim at Savvy Southern Style for Wow Us Wednesday.

  12. I don't even drink and I have a fascination with bar carts and the bottles set up at bars. I love all the colors and textures. I have an old Spritzer bottle in blue, now I need an aqua and a green and I will call it a collection. I also love the old gold rimmed tumblers. In love with your tray and ice bucket. It has great texture, which is exactly what I wrote about on my post today, your bar is a perfect example of what makes a good display, happy Weekend,

  13. I so love your set up.. It reminds me of my parents home growing up. Our old house actually had a bar room and it was so much fun to decorate. No room in this house though. You could find a great old door knob and mount it on a wedge cork from a craft store and make a topper for your topless bottle. ;-).. or find a vintage bottle topper. have a beautiful weekend. xo marlis

  15. Love your bar setup. It holds two of my favorite things, Makers Mark, and leopard cocktail napkins. Husband and I are serious "cocktailers". When we did a little kitchen remodeling last year we added a little bar area and I just love it. Now when we throw a cocktail party Husband has his own place to whip up some serious deliciousness.
