"A Bird In The G"

My granddaughters are quite intrigued with my bird's nest collection.

I think they think Grandma is a little weird, especially since I have a petrified bird in one of them.
I know, it is weird!

So imagine their excitement when they "took" me to HomeGoods to show me a nest that they discovered earlier.
"Grandma, there is a bird in the tree!"
 "I don't see any trees, we're in a parking lot," I said.

"No, a bird in the G, Grandma!"
Sure enough, there it was, a huge bird in the G!
The girls wanted me to have that bird's nest, but I'm not sure how much HomeGoods will charge for it!
You just never know what you're going to find at HomeGoods!

  3. That's funny! They would probably love for you to climb up there and take it down so they don't have to.

  4. Ha, so true Delores. Your granddaughters must have been so excited to show you. ( II won't tell anyone if you go out there with a big ladder (after the babies have hatched!)

  5. Ha! I love it. I was just at H.G. yesterday. Love that store. No nest in the G at the one in Maryland, however.

  6. Okay fellow nest collecter over here and I don't know... do people think we are weird? I have them all over the house with cloches on them... I even have "the word" out in the neighborhood as I have them delivered right to my door by neighborhood children.. I love them! works of art!! I did a post on them if you want to read it you can search "nests" on the sidebar :)

When the nest is abandoned, you should somehow get it.. How special for your grandchildren to remember this story and YOU have the nest! :) (ps. maybe the fire department ladder would come for some brownies :)

  7. oh, I I thought I would let you know that I had a reader inform me that collecting bird's nests is illegal and was violating a 1921? bird act.

  9. How cute! It would probably take the fire department to get it down, but it appears to be in use. '-)
I like the way you have your nests displayed.
