Not Your Average Hardware Store!

Garrett's Ace Hardware in Healdsburg is not your average hardware store!
Along with the nuts and bolts, light bulbs and paint is an entire area dedicated to home decor that rivals anything I've ever seen.

Appealing to a wine country aesthetic and lifestyle, this store has everything that fits that look.

 Fabulous prints...

...to tempt us bovine lovers!

 Natural linen and wicker furniture.

Everything one would need to furnish a home in the wine country or elsewhere is right here!

I found lots of tablescape inspiration...

...and inspiring tables too.
How cool is this table with its iron base?

This very cool table was set with faux brown transferware.

A twig chandelier caught my eye.
Hmmm, where could I hang this?

They also carry a line of paper placemats, napkins and runners that I found rather exciting!

How fun to just roll out a paper runner for a rustic table or buffet.
No need to go to the dry cleaners!
(Horchow also carries these paper "linens" here.)

Along with all the trendy decor items and furniture, Garrett's also has...

Chickens!
Yes, my favorite thing to do after perusing the store for inspiration is to say hi to all the chickens!

And their resident cat, who I always look for to give a hug, but clearly doesn't want my affection!
Yes, Garrett Ace Hardware is not your average hardware store!

I'm joining Kim at Savvy Southern Style for Wow Us Wednesday.

  1. So much fun! We have our own rendition of this place, called Bering's, but without the chickens. Wonderful post, I'm smiling...

We have used the paper placemats and love them; also make great gifts!

  3. Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh. Why oh why can't we have stores like that around here.
Those cow prints are fabulous. Actually everything in there is fabulous. I would have to rent a truck to get it all home.

  4. The paper products are from a company called Cake, I believe. You can order straight from their website. I didn't buy a roll for a Christmas present two years ago and just ordered it straight from them. I especially love the furniture in this store and all the bovine prints! Looks like great fun!

  8. Oh how I wish my local Ace Hardware was like this! A funny thing they do have in common though is the cat. Actually our store has 2 cats and their names are "Ace" and "Hardware".

  10. Hi D! It looks like I need to take another trip up to Healdsburg! You always give us such wonderful eye candy. I saw a few things I would love to add to my home. I do love virtual shopping thru your eyes,
    Happy Monday,

PS, I am in the middle of bringing out a touch of Fall decor. It all starts with the pillows for me. Come by to see them in my family room, if you have a chance.

  13. All that fun decor within a hardware store? If I walked inside, I would have thought I had died and gone to heaven.

  14. Thank you so much for featuring this Ace Hardware store...so wish there was one like that here. The faux brown transferware caught my attention...I cannot afford the "real antique" kind and was hoping to find this transferware on the Net...however no luck. Do you know who manufacturers this product? This Ace store is so incredible...saw many great ideas. Again, thank you for posting this.

    Warmly, Mary (The Old Elf)

  15. There's an Ace on Newbury Street in Boston...the storefront is pretty just by itself. Your Ace would be a dangerous place for my credit card, hubby would wonder why the fix-it portion of the budget has jumped.

  21. Hi Cindy,
Garrett's Ace Hardware is on Dry Creek Road, across from Big John's Grocery Store. You have to go outside where the chickens are, where you'll find the plant nursery and then a separate building with their housewares. It's wonderful! ~Delores
