The Sunroom In Turmoil

What do you do with an extra gallon of custom-matched off-white paint?
Continue into the sunroom.

Although the yellow walls made sense in the sunroom, I am going for a new look.
Tommy the Painter still thinks I'm crazy, and he hates painting this heavily stuccoed wall, original to the house!

Bear hates having his own private den in turmoil.
He thinks the sunroom is his to sit and look out the window...

...and sleep on the red sofa with Oscar!
Well I have news for them.  The red sofa went bye-bye!
I'm still undecided whether to replace it with a console or another sofa.

The new look is in process...
Stay tuned for the final reveal.

  2. I'm liking the new wall paint but I'm afraid you are changing the beautiful style of decorating that I have coveted and dreamed of achieving ever since I discovered your blog..... please don't change too much!!!! I'm also worried about your tole light fixtures. I love, love, love those and think they fit your house perfectly. It was hard enough for me to accept that you got rid of the one in your dining room, please don't get rid of any more.... I don't think my heart can take it!

  3. Love the new look! Quick question...did the BM paint you used cover that dijon in one coat? And if so which of their line did you use. I need to cover some yellow as well! Thanks.

  6. Hi gme,
I promise I won't get rid of the tole chandeliers! I'm just ready for a change. Everything is staying the same, I'm just lightening up and updating with a cleaner look. ~Delores

  7. Hi Becky M.
The paint did cover in one coat--at least 95% anyway.
It is the BEN paint by Benjamin Moore. Email me and I'll give you more details. ~Delores

  10. Where will they sleep! I hope you get a new sofa for them...I looked back at your post from last July and saw how comfy they looked in "their" room!

  12. I love the changes - Your house was amazing before, but I understand the need to lighten up a bit - it will be beautiful both ways....
Love your "Bear" - never seen him before - what an adorable sad face....better get them another couch!

  13. I am sure whatever you do in the sunroom will be beautiful, Delores. It is fun to change things around...BUT I vote for a new sofa. You cannot simply remove a spot in the sun where both Bear and Oscar are comfy. That just would not be right!

  14. You are on a roll. I need your momentum here to get some things done. I know you will enjoy the fresh new look. It's always good to change things up, but I'm the worst about doing just that. I rock along with the same ole same-o. Bear and Oscar will definitely need a new sleeping sofa. That would be the room I'd hang out in, possibly curled up with the dogs. ;-)
