I adore camellias! I grew up with them in Pasadena! and then we bought my "dream house" (I saw at 13) and we bought when I was 38!!! The previous owner (a friend of my mother's) won every single prize in every single "camellia show!!) The place was covered in prizewinning camellias!
What a gift!
Now in Santa Barbara...in a drought.....it is a sad thing.....no camellias! I have one 60 year old azalea in a pot!
We are on water-rationing.......all I can say is that if I have to buy water; I will keep this azalea alive. I will post a picture of it...(I already have)!!!
