Weekly Words to Live By

"Life is meant to be lived fully, and enjoyed deeply, and our homes are the great backdrop upon which our lives unfold. They are where we begin and end each day. Any room in which we spend time should feed us, nurture us, and improve the quality of our lives. People are what bring rooms to life." --Barbara Barry

  10. I think that I'm going to put that on my fridge! (Although, I think I've heard this quote before....) My very first thought, though, was that your home looks soooo hospitable. The warm glow is very inviting but I, also, think that, somehow, it looks like a place where warm visiting occurs! What a lovely expression!

  12. I have done this exact same set up in my den! It is why I have two matching couches, club chairs and round tables. I loved the look, only I just couldn't live with it! So, I rearranged to what I have now. I am much more happier with my setup now. Even though it doesn't have the "look" it is how we live and that's what counts most! Great post! Maybe, all I really needed to make it work was this fantastic coffee table. LOL! Just kidding! Beautiful room!

  14. Hi Delores,
SUch a pretty, comfortable, warm, and inviting room. I agree with your chosen quote, and also that furniture, art, candles, soft fabrics, great floor coverings, books, and music make the room, too!
Hope you had a great weekend.

  19. Amen Sister! I can't not understand these people that don't take care of their homes. We live in a modest 25 year old home but I always made sure that it was a comfortable, pretty place to be. My girls loved their home and ours was the "hang out" for all the friends. If you wanted me to just curl up and die, force me to live in a dirty, cluttered , ugly place...
