Spring Forward

Did you remember to set your clocks ahead one hour?

That's right.
We just lost an hour! Not to worry, we will find it again on November 4th when we "fall back."
The trade-off is an hour more of sunlight in the evening. Yay!

I think it is a silly thing to do, actually. But every state follows Daylight Saving Time, except Hawaii and Arizona.

An old Lakotah Indian once remarked:
"Only a white man would believe that you could cut a foot off the top of a blanket and sew it to the bottom of a blanket and have a longer blanket."

Just remember to set all your clocks ahead to avoid confusion and prevent tardiness.
They say the day after we spring forward, there are more traffic accidents as people suddenly realize they're late.
Makes sense.

For me, it's a matter of adjusting to the loss of that hour.
Kind of like a mini jet lag.
Does that happen to you too?

No, we don't observe day light savings time in the spring, or in the fall. AZ. just sits still and watches the rest of the United States change their clocks.
It's wreid because half the year we are on pacific time and the other half, mountain time.
Don't worry, by tomorrow, you will have adjusted. Until then, enjoy your Sunday and have a great week,
Char

Yes, it does, I feel just a bit off all week, always do when the time changes. I think we all have our internal time clocks and they stay the same but our enviromental clocks are different, happy Sunday,

Today I awoke at the same time and felt just as rested.

Ah, the beauty of living in AZ. :)

It takes me at least a week to get used to the time change, although I will say the "Fall Back" change seems to affect me the worse for some reason. But I do look forward to not having to drive home in the dark anymore. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Barb

If my clocks were as pretty as your clocks, I'd enjoy being able to re-set them! Yes, I'm feeling the jet lag, but I love Daylight Savings Time and would like it to never change back. laurie

Yes, I can relate. I don't like springing forward. I wish we could just leave the whole time thing alone. Now, instead of waking up at 6:45, it will feel more like 5:45. Yuck! I dread tomorrow morning.

I hate the time changes. I always operate on my body clock, and never use an alarm clock. So I'm 'off' for about a week.
I love the little peek at your clocks. Very pretty. I saw a program about Buckingham Palace recently, and the 'clock keeper' takes a full weekend to adjust all the 700 clocks in the palace. Now...he has something to complain about. LOL

Delores,
Lovely clocks make for a gorgeous post! Sweet reminder. Jet lag? For me it's more of a a"flashback" to my dating years. Wanting to sleep in late, but parents that insited that I rise before (or at least with ) the sun!Ha!
Fondly,
Pat

Loved your post today! For so long I've wanted to comment, but today's post was the one that made me stop and do it! You are truly eye candy!

Love all of your beautiful clocks and the quote is wonderful.

Yes, I have a mini jet lag, too! But it was light so late - it was heavenly. I'm so glad, too, that they've changed the date. The traffic, when it fell on Halloween, was frightening in and of itself. Then, I can't tell you how many times it fell on Easter Sunday and my husband would be getting up extra early to do the sunrise service....

That is a funny quote in the middle! But I do think the reason we do it is not to make a longer day, but to allow farmers more early morning hours (so they don't have to get up at 4 in the morning for the light). That makes sense to me!'

It is Day 2 and I still have mini jet lag. I agree with the Lakotah Indian, it makes no sense, but I'd rather not move to Arizona to get away from DST -- Hawaii maybe.

Delores, what a treat to see all your gorgeous clocks. I agree, it's nice to have daylight longer, but for some reason I feel I've lost an hour. Great Native American quote. Thanks for sharing these clocks. My husband always says a man with two clocks never knows the time, but I don't think one can have too many clocks, especially if they are as wonderful as the ones in your home. ~ sarah
