Spring is in the air and I'm stuck at home with the tile contractor and the cabinet maker.
What to do?
Create a tablescape for spring!
The inspiration for my tablescape comes from these French plates.
BFF, Maureen and I found them at an antique store in the wine country on our birthday weekend.
There were 16 plates with three different scenes. We bought them and split them up.
She got 8 and I got 8!
We planned to create a tablescape together, but it just didn't happen!
So, here is my spring table, using everything French that I could find in the house!
Starting with a confit pot and the very last white hydrangea left over from Ashley's wedding!
For something different, I set the table in the entry hall using the drop leaf table from the living room. A French tablecloth found in France tops it.
Matching napkins and napkin rings are from One King's Lane.
Faux rosemary topiary place card holders are from Pottery Barn.
The majolica charger anchors all the plates.
Yellow basket weave dinner plates go perfectly with the French plates
Vintage jewel-like amethyst glasses and various silver and bone handled flatware are from my collection.
I love pulling these treasures out of drawers and cupboards and mixing them up.
The room is perfumed with the sweet scent of jasmine, a gift from my friend Jane when Dexter passed away.
I'll plant it outside soon in his memory.
As you can see, I have a new assistant taking Dexter's place.
My grand-dog, Bear seems to like being a part of the photoshoot just like Dexter did!
Butter Kitty is also offering her assistance.
The two of them are quite the pair with their matching brindle coats.
I'll be back later tonight to light the candles!
Un Table Pour Le Printemps!
This tablescape will join all the others over at Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday.

Beautiful table, Delores. I love the mix of dinnerware and linens, the textures and all.
I'm so glad you have grand-dog Bear and Butter Kitty to keep you company (I'm assuming the contractors are not much company!) - and I love those printed Provençal cloths, wish I'd bought more.
How very springlike and inviting! Will you eat there? And sweet Dexter has a sweet memorial plant. What a nice gift from your friend! You've got me thinking. I think I might do some "house playing" and see what I come up with. Thanks for the pretty post and great idea!
Delores, this table is delightful. I love the plate combination. How kind of you to share those gorgeous french plates! Your table looks fabulous, with your signature style! Glad to see the sweet pets in your photos! xo marlis

I just love it when people love doing such fun stuff like setting a table for no reason other than they like to see and touch pretty things. Thanks for sharing because I like just as much to look at pretty things and these photos are peerettttyyyyy!
Such a lovely setting...beautiful plates!
I love everything about this tablescape, it's relaxed and so lovely. I could go on and on, just want to say how much I love your home and all the color and pattern!
I love your table setting and how you used variety in the seating, with the cane loveseat.
Thanks for sharing

Delores, I like the way you set the table in the entry. Fun idea! You know I'm smiling about the details of this French table. Are your plates marked? Thy look like Moustiers to me. Bear and Butter Kitty fit right in. I'll be back later to enjoy the glow of the candlelight.

I am in LOVE with those plates, especially the little hot air ballon one. How adorable. This is a beautiful and charming tablescape.
Of course you needed some more plates didn't you?????
Stop by my blog and check out my solution to my dish storage, if you have a moment. I mentioned my plans as a comment to one of your earlier posts about dish storage/overflow, which most of us here in blogland seem to suffer from. Again, lovely....as usual.
Beautiful table to usher in spring!
Beautiful....love the colors!

Delores, you know how much I love this table! Those plates are just wonderful, and I love everything you've done on the table. I'm so sorry about Dexter. I missed that post. laurie
