"Red Sky at Night...."

"Red sky at night, sailor's delight! Red sky in morning, sailor take warning."

That's what my Dad always said, and he was a sailor! I captured this moody photo of the vineyards, sunset and fog creeping in on our way home in the Wine Country about 5:00 p.m.

And a few minutes later, the sky was on fire!

I'm joining Susan at "A Southern Daydreamer" for Outdoor Wednesday. Be sure to visit her blog and see more beautiful outdoor photography.

Beautiful photos.... isn't it funny because I'm from the North of England and they used to say "red sky at night, shepherd's delight, red sky in the morning, shepherd's warning"....

Beautiful shots. Here at the edge of the Gold country the low clouds and fog have been blocking any sunset color.

Oh, these photographs are absolutely stunning. The fog seems to be hugging the ground, as if it is hiding from the brilliant colors in the sky. I could get lost in these pictures.
I'm honored that my book found its way into your hands.

Your lens captured a perfect scene. Love the light foggy whites covering the mountains.

A beauty to behold!

My Dad used to use that saying too! Now I use it myself to predict the weather and it is usually very accurate! Beautiful photos!

I have never seen fog in the early evening. We often have it in the morning and it usually burns off during the day. At night we get it late into the night long after sunset.
Look at the gorgeous photo ops we are missing. These are both gorgeous.

Delores, I also posted a photo of the red sky today - not as pretty as yours though. Mine didn't have the lovely vineyards and the fog- Just bare, winter trees. laurie
