O Christmas Tree, How Lovely Are Your Branches

"O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree,"

"Your beauty green will teach me"

"That hope and love will ever be"

"The way to joy and peace for me."

"O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree,"

"Your beauty green will teach me."

While we were decorating the tree, I couldn't help wonder why year after year we put a tree in our house! I know the tradition started centuries ago in Germany, but it amazes me that the tradition is so incredibly strong still.

We long for tradition in our lives, and look forward to the ritual of cutting down the tree with our loved ones, or picking it out at the Christmas tree lot. Of pulling out the ornaments, some passed down from generation to generation. We remark how lovely the tree smells and how beautiful it is with the lights all aglow.

Sometimes, it seems like an overwhelming task to put the tree up, especially now with the children all grown. But it's worth it!
Every year we always say, "This is the most beautiful tree we have ever had!"
I think this year, it's true!

I'm joining Cindy at My Romantic Home for "Show and Tell Friday."
I'll bet there will be a lot of Christmas Trees featured this time, so be sure to visit!
On December 15th, I'll join Sherry at No Minimalist Here for her "Share the Decor" party.

Your tree is beautiful and I love the verses of the song," O Christmas Tree". You expressed so beautifully how we all feel about our trees each year and all the traditions.

Love your tree.. It is the most beautiful. I am afraid I borrowed your idea with the webbing.. but what font did you use? I could not find one that beautiful. Merry Christmas.

Oh my, I thought your tree was artificial it's so perfect looking and I love how you have it decorated! I know what you mean about it taking time and being harder when the kids are older...or maybe it's that I'm older? But you are right, it is so worth it and your tree is simply lovely! So is your mantel!!

Delores -
I am in agreement with you on your reluctance to begin putting up a tree. I know, for me, once it is up and those miseable lights on, I am sooo happy that I have done it. The rest of the decorating is so enjoyable. Each ornament makes me smile. Your tree is exquisite.

I know how you feel - sometimes it feels like an overwhelming task at an already frenetic time of year. But once it's up and decorated, it's so lovely - as yours indeed is!

Lovely entry. I can smell the fresh pine from here. You have to tell me where one can purchase the burlap tie Merry Christmas swag on your entry wreath.

I'm a newbie to your blog found thru BNOTP. I may not have a blog however, I subscribe to many talented & creative people's blogs like yourz. Gives me a fresh perspective for the retail business throughout the country.
