My Top Three Valentine's Day Love Songs

"You and me babe, how 'bout it...."

Happy Valentine's Day!
As a hopeless romantic, I'm a sucker for love songs!
Here are my top three love songs that I never tire of listening to.
Beginning with "Romeo and Juliet." Mark Knopfler sings about the famous star crossed lovers that would have Shakespeare keeping the beat!  Listen to the piano and guitar solo at the beginning and the end.

"Love comes out of nowhere babe, just like a hurricane... and it feels like rain."

John Hiatt's "Feels Like Rain," about love in New Orleans is more than romantic, it's just plain sexy!
So many have covered this song, but John is the real deal.

"Under the moon and the stars above, it was a perfect love."

This song about a lifelong love always gets to me.  My kids think it's the cheesiest song ever, but I never tire of it.  The guitar, Marc Cohn's voice and the surprise voice that joins his in harmony....
See if you recognize who it is.

These three songs are special to me because of the emotions they evoke when I listen to them.
They are my love songs.  They are our love songs.
Tell me, what are yours?

You are so right...it is the emotion that you feel when you listen to certain songs! "Nights in White Satin" by the Moody Blues, does it for me! Enjoy your day! ;)

My favourite romantic song is 'It's Magic' by Dinah Washington. It's an old song....... but it makes me melt.

You're right Stacey! When JT joins in, I melt. Maybe why I love this cheesy song so much.

I love that you are a romantic. I have so many but one in particular fits the time of life we are in right now," You are Beautiful in my eyes." One day hubby sent that song to me when he was at work. I can not listen to it without crying, sweet, happy tears. Happy VDAY!!♥♥♥

Love James Taylor. I am about two decades older than you, which explains the difference in our taste in music. Except for James, I don't know any of the artists you favor. Some of my favorites are Chet Baker "Embraceable You," Weslia Whitfield "How Deep is the Ocean," Chris Botti "What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?" as well as two sad ones; Kenny Rankin "Here's That Rainy Day," and Diana Krall "I Miss You So" because the love of my life left this world twelve years ago and sad songs are more fitting.
Have a wonderful time with your love and dear friends.
Best...Victoria

I'll add one more I really think you'll love: Alison Krauss doing an incredibly sweet version of "This Time the Dreams on Me."

Oh how I love James Taylor and recognized his harmony on that beautiful song I had not heard before. Off to listen to John Hiatt's song next...and Mark Knopfler (twisting by the pool) is always a fav. Good taste just oozes from this blog, thanks Delores.
