An Everyday Holiday Centerpiece

For my everyday holiday centerpiece, I once again pressed into service my new dough bowl.
First, I lined the outside edge with leftover garland.

Then I filled the bowl with pomegranates and pinecones.  Easy peasy!
Red apples would also work well too, but the extra large pomegranates at Costco were just too hard to resist.

I now have a centerpiece that will last for several weeks, won't rot or wilt and adds a splash of color to the dining room.
Hopefully the pomegranates will still be edible?

Beautiful Delores!! I just found the same pinecone candles in a home decor shop near me and bought the last three! Love them!

I like the idea of the pomegranates instead of apples. My apples don't stay fresh looking very long.

Hi Delores! Love the simplicity of this arrangement! I too am using fresh garland this year. Do you have any suggestions to keep it fresh longer? I have already soaked it in a bucket of water for 8 hours. I used it on my staircase last year and it died before Christmas :(
Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi jburk,
It says on the tag to mist frequently to keep the garland fresh, but I'll never do that. What you did was probably the best thing to do. It makes such a mess when bringing into and out of the house! Next year I may go faux! ~Delores

Love your dough bowl with the pomegranates! When I see them they're usually not that pretty. I need to check our Costco. I just noticed your Home for Thanksgiving platter on your hutch. Don't you love it? I've had mine for several years and use it every Thanksgiving.
