How To Cure The Winter Blahs

Our flat in the City is very dark because there isn't a lot of natural daylight with windows only in the front and the back.
Add dark painted walls and you get the picture.
Dark and gloomy, especially when cloudy.

I was telling my friend about how my dark flat was affecting my mood, giving me the winter blahs, and she suggested three things:
Flowers, candles and music.

Ok, let's see if this works.
Flowers.
Check.

Candles.
Check.

Flowers and candles together.
 Check.

Flowers and candles in every room, like the kitchen.
Done.

Flowers and candles in the bedroom.
Absolutely!

 But what about the music?
All my music is on my iPhone and I have no way to play it.
Until now...
Introducing "The Pill" by beats.
This little "pill" picks up my music from my phone and plays it in the room for us all to hear.
The quality is great too.

Have a listen...
They're playing my favorite song!
And that's how you cure the winter blahs!

Brightened up my morning already.
There sure are some amazing little speakers on the market now isn't there.
My laptop has lousy sound but I plug in this little ball about the size of an egg and WOW. I get amazing sound.

My exact remedy any time of the year. We just got the firebox and I play Pandora through my TV speakers which are connected to my stereo. Oh my goodness the music can now get is fabulous. I love to have piano in the background so I listen to Kevin Kern radio, uninterrupted music all day long. They have one station that is YoYo Mon and James Taylor, it is one of my favorite. I always, always have music in my home. I have lights on during the day and candles as well and a bouquet of flowers is always in view. Little gifts to our homes and ourselves. Enjoy yours!! Happy belated birthday..You look so good it should not even be a thought.

I am with you..I need light.
I was a realtor for almost 30 years..and every home that had light..had something different.
I loved the cozy moody ones too..on the darkish side.
But I need to live in light.
Maybe because I live in QC Canada:)

I just came from the store where I picked up two bunches of tulips. I debated whether to pick up more flowers for the Living Room, and ended up putting those back. Now I'm sorry I did that. You are right! Flowers are essential for winter!

That combination works for me too. I d like to add in a nice cold Diet Coke and also, I turn on the lights. Just have to.

I need to do every one of those!! My home is dark too, especially now with these snow storms! Dark equals blah and depressing. I'm going out to get flowers now before the next snow hits today! Thanks!!
