Well, it happened!
We are officially living in our new house!
I am not quite ready to share yet because there are still boxes everywhere, but here are a few photos leading up to the big move.
Most of the furniture was delivered two days before we moved, like our new leather chairs from Crate and Barrel.
A table from World Market with four chairs from Arhaus completes the little breakfast nook.
The burlap pendent is from Restoration Hardware Baby & Child.
The dining room table is also from Arhaus.
It has two leaves to expand to seat 12.
The appliances were literally delivered two days before we moved too!
Getting the refrigerator up the stairs was scary.
These guys know what they're doing.
Matt, the contractor is holding the outdoor lantern aside with a broomstick!
Febrize, the master carpenter holds the door. It was quite the effort!
Meanwhile, the plumber was tweaking stuff.
And still is!
Keith, the "blindman" and his assistant installed the blinds the day before.
He will also fabricate the draperies, as soon as I know what fabric to use!
Now we have some privacy which is so important living in the City.
I love how they turned out!
The atrium is finally finished too.
Michael, the master carpenter just finished the ipe deck the day before our move.
The nautical lights are from Pottery Barn.
Here's the kitchen before we moved all our stuff in!
The lanterns are from Ballard Designs.
Just down the hall from the kitchen is the master suite.
Blinds are installed and the zebra rug from Pottery Barn is waiting for our bed.
The master bath makes us so happy!
We are loving the heated floors and the water pressure from the rain head shower is to die for!
The week preceding the move, I took numerous trips in the car to bring over clothes and shoes.
I guess I couldn't wait to see it all in the closet!
Going downstairs from the kitchen is our family room and two guest suites.
Robb, the project manager had the television installed ahead of time.
He also installed the gas fireplace.
I found these zinc covered shelves at Anthropologie for over the wet bar.
Not sure what I'm going to put on them yet.
This was a major move for us.
It was physically exhausting and challenging.
Yes, we hired movers to move the big stuff, but you know how it is...
You think you have everything until you go back to the old house and there's so much miscellaneous crap!
Eventually, we got it all out of the rental and now it's sitting in our garage.
Time to purge!
I'm hoping to have an estate sale in early spring or just try to sell on the blog.
Any suggestions?

Congratulations on moving in!! It must be so exciting! I love your new master bath, so pretty! Enjoy your new house!
Dearest Delores,
Wow, you tackled a major job and my guess is that you both have kind of skipped the entire Christmas and New Year's season...
Happy that you got past that heavy part and this is also where we notice that we're no longer twenty-five. But it will be a smart move; no doubt and better done now than later if 'God-forbid' one becomes ill.
Glad you have now some time to settle in before your Birthday!
Decompress and enjoy your new place and worry about the Estate Sale later.
Hugs,
Mariette
So excited to see how it's all coming along. Beautiful!
It looks beautiful so far. I'm sure you'll have a fun time decorating.

It's gorgeous and I can't wait to see it as you get all settled! I would say the estate sale, because selling on the blog could involve packing and shipping! OR maybe a consignment shop?
Congratulations on the move! Your home is already beautiful and I know you will make it look absolutely stunning! You have some gorgeous pieces already and I love what you did in the kitchen and bathroom!
Cheers!
Shelley
Delores, I'm so happy for you. This is going to be a beautiful home and such a fun adventure. I agree with Penny about the packing and shipping, but then having an estate sale means lots of organizing, pricing, blocking out a weekend to have the sale, and fans like me wouldn't get to attend. '-(
You know I'll want to buy some of your great stuff. Ha!
Your new home is just beautiful Delores! Congrtaulations on moving in. It must feel good to be in and be able to get settled now. Your master bath is stunning. I love your vanity. May I ask if you had that custom made or if not where you purchased it? Would love to know. Thanks Delores!
Sheer perfection, your base is just gorgeous, it is so YOU, love it all for you, I know you are going to be so happy once you have time to play house. We just now feel like we are getting to play house, move, holidays and now back to work. Yes, the purging continues!!!
So happy for you both,
Kathysue
It is gorgeous, Delores. I cannot wait to see the progress. I LOVE the master bedroom rug.
I have awaited an update. Gorgeous!!
I understand the exhaustion. Perhaps we should have made our move 7 or 8 years sooner. In our 70's it has been interesting to discover the old gray mare may not be what she used to be, after all.
We removed the last of storage in November. I had no desire to even look at it. The girls think a sale is the way to go. I am thinking donations. I'm tired!:-) We are still settling in. Daunting is the only way I can describe the task, even with movers. There are many things we felt we needed to hand carry. And then there were the health issues.
I'll be watching for further updates. You are doing an amazing job!!
So happy for you. I cannot wait to see it with all your things in place. The master bedroom rug is my favorite new purchase. Take your time and enjoy the ride. xo
What we have gotten to see looks extremely lovely. I do hope that after you recoup from the move that you will find your new digs most rewarding. I'm sure it will all be worth it in the end. But I do feel your pain. Our last move, well I hope I don't move again. ever. There comes an age where it's not nearly as much fun or exciting as it once was. The floors are amazing!!! I can hardly wait for the finished pics I know you will share with us. xo, have fun!!
Wow, so lovely! I like the bathroom wallpaper. Well, I like it all!
It is all so beautiful! Cannot wait to see your touches everywhere. Yes...purging has become a necessity, whether you just moved...or are staying. Must make life simpler! Enjoy decorating! ;)
Congratulations! It looks like you are well on your way to putting your mark on the new house, looks fabulous. I LOVE your closet!!! Before you get rid of things, think about items at Asti. It's hard when you have 2 houses.
It's a pain to have a garage sale, but in SF it should move quickly. I got rid of 900 items on Ebay, but it took a year of my life. I don't regret it, as it was fun to find new homes for things I treasured at some point. The end result is: I don't miss anything I got rid of!
Estate sale....blog sale sends up a red flag of needing to ship items...I also would schedule a charity pick up for as soon as the sale ends. Honestly though I just donate things these days because an estate sale is so much work....unless of course you hire it done.
I loved your previous home so much I thought there could be nothing better - but guess what ? Looks like you outdid yourself ! This glimpse of the new home is absolutely beautiful - I just love everything you have done.... Congratulations and lots of best wishes in this beautiful new home.....
Delores, Your new home is wonderful! I've been checking your blog periodically to see if you have any photos for us to drool over and now I've been rewarded. I can't wait to see it all furnished and personalized. While a garage-style sale might be easier for you I am keeping my fingers crossed that you will offer some of your goodies on your blog so all of us who have become enamored of your pieces have a chance too. :) Best of luck, whichever you choose! Linda
I love it all! So excited for you and I'm very excited as well to see all you do,lol. I have always loved your taste! Cogratulations on the move and thanks for sharing with all of us :)
Congratulations! It looks wonderful - can't wait to see it with your furniture. Use it in good health!
Beautiful home. Thanks for the sneak peek. Cant wait to see the final job. Good luck in your new home.
...may God rest His eye upon your house...and fill your home with love...blessings laney
Congratulations on your beautiful new home! I can't wait to see how you decorate it. I would love for you to decide to sell some of your items on your blog. I actually was going to email you to see if you were going to keep or sell a 3 candle iron sconce I saw pictured in one of your posts from your old home. I loved it and still have been looking for one like it.
I check daily to see if you've posted on your blog! Love your style! Congratulations on your move!
Oh so thrilled for you Delores! It looks amazing already, even without everything in place. I'm especially LOVING that master bath - it's stunning! And the kitchen too (I have the same Ballard's lantern - love it!)
Can't wait to see everything in!! :)
