Make Your Bed

"The state of your bed is the state of your head."
That is so true.  Don't you find that when your bed is made, you feel better?
I know I do.
I actually like to make the bed and am always looking for new pillows and duvet covers.
It's just another creative outlet, I guess!
This is our current master bedroom in our new house.
It's funny how I've evolved from a patterned bed to an all white bed.

Our master bedroom in Asti with all white linens.

During the summer, I keep the linens white, but will add a burlap colored linen duvet cover in the fall...

...or mix it up with a paisley duvet in the spring.

The linens in one of the guest bedrooms in Asti is a mixture of paisley, matelasse and embroidered linen.

The master bedroom in our old house with its ticking shams and paisley duvet.
Oscar doggie approved!

The same bed decked out in "vintage" Ralph Lauren bedding for winter from several years ago.
I still have that duvet and plaid blanket but wonder if I'll ever use that bedding again.

I'm still working on the guest bedrooms in our new house and promise to reveal soon.
In the meantime, here is a hint.
Guest bedroom number one...

...and guest bedroom number two.
I can't wait to share!

So remember.
To clear your head, make your bed!

love your new master bedroom, it looks cozy and inviting. I love all white bedding and have used all white for at least 25 years. It is like once you switch to all white it is hard to find anything else that looks as good to me. I will admit I don't make my bed every day, however I do pull the bedding back neatly and let it air out, I spray it with linen spray, it looks made or at least neat but the bedding gets air. I read an article once that it is a good idea to do this and I even wrote a blog post about it......http://goodlifeofdesign.blogspot.com/2014/06/permission-to-not-make-your-bed.html

LOL I ran to make my bed before I commented! All your bedrooms look beautiful in the many designs. I like the new bedroom and how you did the windows. It's calm and comfortable and for living in the city that's a great thing!

So true! I love it. I'm wanting to go all white too. Looking for some bargains. I want vintage ruffled curtains to make the Anthropolgy (sp) look.
I'll take the old Ralph Lauren! I'm a vintage RL girl.
Thanks for sharing these ideas. Your home and blog are beautiful. I'm following you. I hope you can come over for a visit.

I like to have the bed made too. My husband just as soon leave it. He hates putting all the pillows back on, so I'm the one who makes the bed. '-)
We have an all white bed in the master. I use vintage quilts on our guests beds. Been thinking I need to freshen things up a bit. Expecting guests this summer and in the fall, so want guest rooms to be at their best. Thanks for sharing your bedding. Your taste is impeccable!

Your new master is gorgeous and I love the all white. I do agree, I make my bed every single day and always home. I can't stand to walk through a room with the bed unmade.

I've never heard that phrase before Delores - but it's sooo true! Love it! And the new master bedroom looks just lovely. I love the all white bedding, and those drapes and shades. Great job!

Both, your old bedroom and your new one are gorgeous! However, I can see the evolution of your style towards a simpler, yet more sophisticated style. Love your all-white bed! I'm a big fan of them. I am in the process of decorating a guest room and that's what I went with. I can't wait to see your room reveals!

Woo this is the unique style bedroom that I was looking for, I must make my bed like this bedroom and I asked my dad Mr. Rey to give me idea for this and my dad tell me that the most important thing beside all decoration of bedroom is the bed mattress for your bed, you must buy a good big size high quality soft and comfortable mattress for your bed then your bedroom will be looking like this bedroom, Thanks dad for this great idea.

Love this post! So nice to see the mixtures of fabrics and patterns but the white bedding is so soothing. So much inspiration! Can't wait to see the rest of the new ones!
