Set In Stone

(Country Living)
I love rustic decor, and there is nothing like stone walls to set the stage for a rustic room, like this living room above featuring limestone walls.

(House Beautiful)
And this living room, designed by Cathy Kincade. I like how the stone is juxtaposed with the luxurious fabrics and blue porcelain in this room.

(Country Living)
An all white living room with light stone walls. How cool this room must be on a hot summer day.

(House Beautiful)
I love everything about this! Of course the stove is my dream stove, but to have it surrounded by a stone niche! Oh my!

(House Beautiful)
Stone walls can give a European feel, as well as a country look like this dining area.

(Cote Maison)
I love the organic feel of this loggia. The wall is wonderful, the wicker chairs with their fur throws are just incredible.

(Country Living)
Although this wall is brick, it still gives the same feel as stone. The white bed linens seem even more luxurious against the wall.

Our home in the wine country has stone on the outside wall of the living room. The chippy painted shutters against the stone wall lend a feel of permanence to the 70's rancher.

Nothing beats this though! Perfection!

You chose the beautiful interiors.
I love stone and wood, all natural.
My house and the cottage has a lot of details in stone and wood.
They provide space heat.

I'm with you Delores, I love the rustic feel of a stone wall. And you're right, especially when it's so hot, like here. We've been in a triple digit heat wave here all week!

I love all of the stone too! We used it as an accent to the exterior of our home and for our fireplace.

Cathy Kincaide worked on a Southern Living Show House we were involved with! She is a my opinion! I adore all of her work!

Wonderful post!

Hello Delores! The stone exteriors are what I love so much about homes in Provence. The home in the last photo and your stone wall with the chippy shutters is gorgeous.

I just love restaurants and other buildings that have used brick or stone walls instead of covering then up....There is just something so charming about them! What a great round-up of lovely images you've selected, here! And of course, your own home with the stones is perfection : )

You do >DO rustic so beautifully, Delores! I fell in some serious love with that stove inside the niche!!! I HATE my stove!!

I saw where Glee got 19 nominations for an Emmy...your DD had to be jumping for joy! I was!

On the radio today, some locals were talking about the LeBron James announcement tonight & one said "I'm going to be watching Glee reruns instead" I laughed out loud!! Me too!!

Yes - there is something about having stone incorporated in your decor...
While it is rustic, it can give off a quaint, warm, and cottage feel too.
I love the stone that I have in my home - it is definitely the focal point!
Thanks for sharing!
