Christmas Vignettes Around the House

There are little touches of Christmas around the house. Just a little, not too much. Mostly fresh greens and flowers

I'm hoping they stay fresh one more week, but the greens are getting crispy and the paperwhites feel like, well, paper!

In the kitchen, paperwhites are outside in the flower box, and inside.

In the sunroom, a long garland rests on the ledge and little cypress trees are getting quite crispy in the urns.

In the family room, just a few branches in a tray on the coffee table are a reminder of the time of year.

And finally, the family room mantel.
These are just a few of my favorite vignettes around the house.

Mr. A finally hung the garland and lights around the front door.
It is now full-on Christmas at this house, let me tell you!

I'm joining Laurie at Bargain Hunting With Laurie for Favorite Things Saturday
I'm also linking up to Sherry at No Minimalist Here for Share the Decor.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers for Alex's safe trip home.
Because of the snow and ice in Europe, flights are being cancelled everywhere.
After hours on the phone with United in the middle of the night, I got him a flight out of Rome for Monday.
It was a miracle!

So much for dreaming of a White Christmas!

Delores, as always, just beautiful. I can only imagine how wonderfully the paper whites and cedar smell. So pretty. I just finished wrapping some packages and polishing some silver and poured myself a cup of Winter Solstice tea, yum, from Petes coffee. I am enjoying my tea and pretending I am at your house!!! xo Kathysue

Dearest Delores,

First of all congratulations for pulling off Alex's return flight for Monday! He's young and he will easily fluff back before Christmas starts! Good for you.
Love your little touches of green with the fresh paperwhites.
Ours just started blooming this week, outside in the garden and I enjoy my second little vase.
Have a Merry Christmas and relax now you're ready and got Alex on his way home.

Delores, I love all your little touches of Christmas and the front entry looks beautiful. I noticed that I have the exact same hurricane with the wicker bottom that you have on the tray in the family room!!! We both must have GREAT taste:):) I envy you being able to have paper whites inside AND out! I also love the idea of the window box right outside your kitchen window!!!!! That will go on my list for spring! My hubby made me all new window boxes last spring( 10 in all) so one more shouldn't be a problem:):) Merry Christmas!!!! XO, Pinky

Delores,
Oh my what do I say! Your home is just beautiful, and the door decor is wonderful. I am an interior designer so of course I love many styles and I have to say next to Shabby Chic your home decor comes in second. I am both Scottish and Irish so I would love as home that looks just like yours. I am also new to blogging about 3 weeks now, if you get the time I would love if you could stop by and take a peek at my blog. Right after the new year I'm planning on a big give away just waiting for a few more followers and getting my blog out there. Well, you have a happy and healthy Christmas and New Year, I will be checking back often to your blog as I just love it.

Oh Delores, what elegant beauty you create! Yikes! All of my cheesy decor is looking pretty bad after viewing the Christmas elegance at your house. I love the swag around the door - so elegant. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas - and I do hope your son makes it home with no more problems. laurie

Delores,
All is bright all is calm :)

What a beautiful Christmas over here at your home.

Those little mini cypress trees are so adorable in the kitchen window.

I bought one years ago and it is about 2 1/2 foot tall now!

Have a beautiful holiday.
