It's Snowing in Firenze!

It's snowing in Firenze!
This is the Hotel Brunelleschi where we stayed in October. Paulus, their manager captured these images this morning. Doesn't it look wonderful and romantic?

The magnificent Duomo and Campanile covered in snow...

...Snow on the tile roof tops.

Oh, how I wish we were there.
Except, our son Alex is supposed to be coming home tomorrow!
His flight was cancelled because of the snow.....
Now what?

Yes, perhaps a bit romantic, IF there's a roaring fire in a giant fireplace to keep me warm. That looks pretty cold to me.

Dearest Delores,

Unusual snow for lots of areas in Italy, as far down even as the Province of Napoli...
The flight for sure got cancelled because they're not equiped for handling snow at their airports. But for sure he will soon be home with his loved ones! Don't worry.

Lots of love,

Those pictures are amazing! I don't think I have ever seen a shot of the city in snow! They must be enjoying the novelty, but they probably aren't ready to handle the snow. I hope your son can come home soon, and join you all for the holidays. I am wondering if he is just there for the first semester or will return in the new year. (mine just did one because she had to return for sports). Both of my college kids are headed home right now, and luckily, while it is very cold here, it is clear with no snow expected until Sunday! Have a wonderful time with your son when he returns. Linda

Is that hotel at the foot of the Ponte Vecchio? It looks so much like a hotel my husband I stayed in 12 years ago (seems like yesterday),. I would love to experience it all in the winter, or any time again, for that matter! I hope your son has a safe trip home.

How beautiful! Your son will be on the next available flight and have wonderful stories to share with you.
I have never been to Italy when it snowed. I spent a Christmas in Paris in the snow many years ago and it was exquisite.
Keep the candles glowing because your son will be on the very first flight home.
Thank you for sharing these wonderful pictures.

Beatiful? Yes! Cold looking? Yes-Yes? What to do? The flight has been cancelled? He will catch a later plane...and just like the Motel 6 ads..you will leave the light on for him. Hugs- Diana

I'm writing you from Turkey.I like your web site very much. But one of the knowledge is wrong.Lamb shish kebab is not an Armenian meal. It's a Turkish meal. For example kebab is a Turkish word. The meaning of shish(We read it şiş)is spit. But ofcourse we live very long time togather with Armenian people in Turkey. So They like to use our meals or our culture such as theirs.I wish you merry christmas.
