Brown paper packages tied up with string.
These are a few of my favorite things!
If I actually had a gift to wrap, I would definitely wrap it with kraft paper!
December 21st, and I still need to Christmas shop!
This year, our family decided that presence instead of presents is what we are giving each other.
And of course, the wedding was one great big present for our family. So....

....except for the grandchildren, no gifts will be exchanged.

Which is kind of sad, because I love to wrap gifts.
I'm looking forward to wrapping the packages for granddaughters, Reese and Zoe though.
The whole time, I'll be humming "brown paper packages tied up with string, these are a few of my favorite things....."
Is your Christmas shopping done, and all your gifts wrapped and under the tree?
There are only four more days until Christmas!
I'm hitting the streets to "commando shop" today!
Wish me luck!

Bought -- but not wrapped. I'm seriously just doing bags this year. I usually wrap too....but sometimes you've got to go for the easy.
we did some commando shopping last night... btw.. love that term. and I will do some tomorrow and then I will be done.. and then to wrap for the grands.. Merry Christmas.. xo marlis
Delores, I'm STILL wrapping gifts, as I keep picking up "last minute" items! I picked up my new issue of Tuscan Style yesterday; and your home looks AMAZING!!! Congrats, again, on your feature! Merry Christmas!!!
Good luck with shopping...it's kind of exciting to be doing it at the last minute! I have to shop early tomorrow morning for the last guy on my list...my husband! I will be wrapping for a while...love all your photos! Merry Christmas!
You are going shopping without your underwear on...? Ha!
Good luck with that, yes, for sure!
I only have to wrap Leila's. We already gave the other grands their gifts when they were here two weeks ago. My poor tree has nothing under it. It is kind of sad. I do love brown craft paper though.
I love brown paper wrappings. They have a wonderful simplicity and freshness.
I love wrapping too...and that song from The Sound of Music! But who needs presents when you are so blessed?
Merry Christmas to you and your family.

We decided the same thing for this year....to practice presence rather than give presents. We still put up the tree, did the decorations and baked our favorite holiday treats. This will be something new for us...
Love all your images of the beautifully wrapped gifts though! I love, love, love to wrap too.
Hugs,
Mary
Delores, brown paper ~ my favorite way to wrap Christmas gifts. ;-) There is so much one can do to embellish these little packages, as you've proven here with this collection of wonderful images. Love this post!
All the best for that shopping spree and have fun!

Delores,
I, too, love to wrap gifts and tie bows! I just finished tying bows on the envelopes containing gift cards for my co~workers!!! Great success in your shopping endeavor...and enJOY the wrapping session! Merry Christmas!
Fondly,
Pat
I am sure you are out shopping right now and hope it is successful! My packages are all wrapped and under the tree except for hubby's since he is a snoop and a SHAKER:):) I did a post on my packages if you want to come see. Have a beautiful Christmas with your beautiful family! Thanks for the gift of YOU all year long and all the inspiration from your blog!!! XO, Pinky
What wonderful ideas! I have wrapping to do and will be inspired to try some of these creative techniques. Love the brown paper with stamps. Thank you.
Love, Jody
I love that saying, presence instead of presents!! I am going to borrow that one!! Yes, I can see Kraft paper with tartan and string in your future. I hope you and your beautiful family are basking in the after-glow of Ashley's wedding. Miss you, xo Kathysue
I have always liked wrapping presents in kraft paper and now I see more fantastic ways to embellish my packages which I still need to finish up. I am such a procrastinator!!!
Merry Christmas!
I did the kraft paper with tartan ribbon for Christmas 1974 and I thought I was so clever then. (And I still think I was) It's not new but it still holds up.
