I've never been a particularly organized person, but I aspire to be.
Since the kitchen remodel, I've been more motivated to finally organize our kitchen in a way that is functional and stylish.
So when I saw these condiment crocks at Pottery Barn yesterday, I didn't hesitate! I knew they would look great in the new refrigerator and provide stylish storage too. Plus, they can go from refrigerator to picnic table for a summer barbecue!
There's nothing like having a refrigerator where half of our food is visible to motivate me even more to keep a larder that is pleasing to the eye.
Kathysue from Good Life of Design calls in "Fridgescaping!"
I already had this porcelain egg holder...
And I found this vintage vegetable container in February and bought it for the new refrigerator.
The drawer below the glass door holds the produce though. It has its own temperature control and keeps everything fresh because of the humidity.
Still, I like the vegetable pan for holding random items.
Lately, I've been spending too much time on Ebay looking for vintage refrigerator containers.
I'm currently stalking this one...
...and I won this butter dish recently with the embossed cow on the lid.
I'm looking for a vintage two quart juice carafe with a lid for orange juice or lemonade.
I know, this could be borderline obsessive, but I'll stop myself before it gets too out of hand!
Promise!

I found these two ceramic holders at Pottery Barn to hold the most used utensils on top of the stove.
I love the crackle finish on these!
The galvanized tray holds a selection of salt, vinegar, herbs and our own olive oil.
Across the room, I corralled like minded white ironstone and enamelware in a basket tray.
This has become the morning coffee and breakfast prep area. The coffee is in the "flour" canister though, so am looking for one that says "coffee."
Getting organized for the first time in my life is easier now that we are empty nesters.
That was the problem before, things got misplaced and were never put back where they should be.
It's a good feeling to have everything in its place and a place for everything.
And, it's pleasing to the eye.
Let's just see how long it lasts!
That recent college graduate of ours is coming home soon....

Delores, sounds like a fun and practical obsession to me. Love the idea of looking into the fridge and seeing these vintage goodies. I've always liked the vintage crocks for corralling things on the counter. The kitchen looks fabulous. So happy for you! ~ sarah
Delores, your kitchen and the organization is coming along beautifully. I think all of your treasures are great.
Enjoy your weekend, Elizabeth
Love that tin vegetable container! You have things so beautifully organized, as always, your an inspiration! BTW I could almost KILL myself, I had (yes, had) a glass container like your picture, with the veggies! I gave it to the Goodwill! (of course that was in the '80's...am I forgiven?!)
Great find on the Vegetable container! I've never seen one like that. I have the large square glass dish like the one on ebay - have an entire set of different sizes - and I love them. It's amazing how much better the food tastes when it hasn't been stored in plastic. Maybe it's just my imagination, but I really do think it makes a difference.
Love the mayonnaise and ketchup jars! LOVE them!!
Delores,
In my last visit to you I so notice the up-styling you have done to the kitchen, and I so noticed you have your dream refrigerator and mine toooo! :)
It all looks so, so perfect. I just love your style, truly a home one can love.
Thank you for your sweet beautiful visit to my little creativeness in the buffet & hutch make over :)
xoxo

Delores, you are settling into the new look very comfortably I see.
I am most intrigued by the Olive oil on top of the stove. Is it your own Asti oil?

Delores, I am in love with your new kitchen, it's truly beautiful! And I love that you are finding lots of vintage items to give it even more patina. I will keep my eye out for one of those juice containers!

Aaaaah Yes, fridgescaping, I still do it and love it, nothing prettier than looking inside a well organized fridge. Loving those lidded jars for condiments, that is next on my list!!!
I need to buy some olive oil from YOU!! I keep forgetting that you make your own olive oil. Everything looks amazing and inviting. Love all of your special touches, I like to call them D's touches!! Happy weekend and thank you for the mention! xo Kathysue
PS I have two glass containers, one with fruit on the top and a small square one with ivy on the top. I love them too!! Good luck in your hunt!! xo KS

Beautiful - I aspire to be organized too.
I love your "new" kitchen! Those little crocks from Pottery Barn are so darn cute. They are on my wish list. Now that you are finished organizing your kitchen, would you like to stop by and organize mine?
Have a great weekend!

Looks like you are having a grand time in your new kitchen. Enjoy every moment, and make sure to share it all with us!!! LOL.
I'm loving all the pictures, and as usual you always have just the right touch.
I love all the new and vintage containers you have found for fridge-scaping. I have been doing the same with my new glass-front refrigerator. I may have to add those new PB containers. It feels good to be organized. If my kitchen reno is ever finished, maybe I will know that feeling myself.
All the best...Victoria
I agree wholeheartedly ! It is so nice to get organized, it clears your mind.. helps us move on to the next task- I have been trying to be organized ( stylishly of course) and just love your ideas. BEAUTIFUL kitchen- love the green color. This has made me realize I HAVE to paint an antique church pew in my kitchen with a color so
it will be a "standout" like your cabinets.. thanks for
the nudge.

I just saw those condiment crocks in the PB catalog and loved them too!
Everything looks great Dolores!
You just have the neatest stuff! Looks great!
My obsession too
I love the word "frigescaping"! And yours is just beautiful. I have several of those cow refrigerator dishes. I bought mine about 10 years ago when we lived in France. I found them in a big discount dept store for about 3e, roughly equal to the $ back then. It bought several to give to friends too. Because of the cow and the shape, I have always used mine for butter.
Love the new kitchen, do you happen to remember where you bought the three green salt cellars displayed wiht the oils n untensils, love them
Those salt cellars are from Williams Sonoma, years ago.
