The Old Chairs In Their New Clothes

Here is a sneak peek at the old "mauve" chairs in the living room in their new clothes.
It's a whole new, fresh and modern look.

At first, I wasn't feeling the love because they are so different and the other new fabrics aren't in the room yet to compliment them.

But after playing around with accessories and once evening came, I fell in love with these chairs all over again.
They make me smile because the new fabric is just too much fun!

I think your new chairs look great!

I almost always have that time when something new or different is in the house, and I am not sure about it. I think it is the shock to the eye, when the eye is used to things being a certain way. I now know to wait three days before making any judgment on something!

My 9 year old daughter is the same way. When we moved into our house, her rug was backordered so she did not have a rug for a couple of months. When the rug was delivered, she was at school, and when she got back I heard all sorts of moaning and groaning from upstairs. She was not happy about the rug (which is so pretty and works perfectly). I told her about my 3 day rule, and luckily it made sense to her. 3 days later, she told me that I was right and she loved the rug! Designers should tell their clients about the 3 day rule, it would avoid a lot of freaking out about furniture installs!

I love hearing about the 3 day rule! (:>) These chairs look so fresh and pretty. I am wanting some new chairs. Maybe I should just get some slipcovers to see if that will help!

Love the chairs! So bright and fresh! I'm in the process of deciding on fabrics for my family room and it is sooo hard! But I think your paisley would work with the pieces I've chosen so far! Can't wait to see the finished room!

Lovely chairs.

By the way, is this the room that houses the green velvet sofa? And if so, are you changing that? I have two fabrics in mind for my sofa: one is a cream matelasse and the other is an apple green velvet. Which to choose???

Love the paisley chairs, what a cute and fun pattern! Great choice, I was afraid you were going to show us they were covered in burlap! I can hardly wait until you give us the couch reveal. I'm still in love with that green velvet..... I'm sure it will be beautiful whatever your choose, but now you have me really curious!

I like your new chairs. The material is quite different and would be a shock to the eye. However, after looking at the chairs for a few minutes, I fell in love with the pattern. I think you took a leap of faith and made a great choice. Looking good, Looking good!!

I think your chairs are wonderful - love that paisley fabric. Regarding the 3 day rule - it applies to most everything. When I have an anxious day - or something or somebody upsets me, I asked myself how am I going to feel about it in 3 days.
Looking forward to more pics of your room transformation.

I love the new fabric on these chairs. Did you recover them yourself?

No, I had my upholsterer do it. The fabric is from Robert Allen and it was the last of it. I needed 18 yards and there was only 14 available. My upholsterer made it work. He measured twice and cut once! No room for error!
