Harmonious Autumn

"There is a harmony in autumn...

...and a luster in its sky,

Which through the summer is not heard or seen,
as if it could not be,
as if it had not been."
 ~Percy Bysshe Shelly

After spending a few days in the country, it is especially clear that autumn is in the air.
This is when nature is at its peak and everything that began in spring is now in perfect harmony.

The few vegetables we planted in spring are ready to be harvested.
Armenian cucumbers!

Heirloom tomatoes and basil!

And figs.  Glorious figs!

A harmonious harvest with more on the way.

Next week, the grapes will be ready.
They are late this year.

At the very end of autumn, the olives will be ready for harvest, giving us sweet olive oil!
I can hardly wait.
It's going to be an abundant, glorious fall!

I have been harvesting a few figs myself. Everything else in the garden seems to have slowed to a halt. Now for a brief few months of rest until we all do it again!

I wish my figs were still there! We had a huge crop this summer, though. I wish I could grow olives here? Your harvest looks amazing and your property as well! Have a wonderful wednesday!

How wonderful to have just a beautiful piece of land, and then reap such beauties FROM the land.
Perfect in every way.
