Dining Room Slipcovered Chairs Reveal

The dining room Parsons chairs got new slipcovers.
Although that doesn't seem like a big deal, believe me it was.
It was like a "three act play" to get these slipcovers fabricated!

It all started when I met Ludwiga at an antique show.
Her business, Ludwiga's Linens specializes in European linens and textiles.
I purchased seven yards from her for each chair.  This fabric is only twenty inches wide and is from Hungary.  It is at least 80 to 100 years old!

I brought the yardage and chairs to Maggie's Slipcovers for fabrication.
She cut the pieces and custom fit them to the chairs, just like a dressmaker would.
Maggie is from Hungary, so she was very excited to take on this project!
After she cut the pieces to fit, I sent the front piece back to Ludwiga to be monogramed.
"D" for Delores

"G" for Gary.
After Ludwiga monogramed them, they went back to Maggie to be completed.
It took 4 months between the two vendors!
A "three act play!"

I love the new, clean look of the chairs.
They are one of a kind, personalized and unique.

It was totally worth the wait!

I'm linking to Kim at Savvy Southern Style for Wow Us Wednesday.
I'm also joining Courtney at French Country Cottage for Feathered Nest Friday.

Delores, these are definitely worth the wait! Your style is impeccable. I've wanted to have slip covers custom made for our dining room chairs, but haven't found the right fabric. Perhaps I need to look for vintage yardage. There is a vendor at Round Top, so I know what is on my list now. Love the personalized monograms. Perfection as is all you do. Thanks for sharing. ~ Sarah

Your neutral linen with the red monogram is so pretty. Nice things are always worth the wait! I have antique linen towels that remind me of this fabric. There are durable as I am sure your fabric is.

Enjoy your day!

Oooooweeee! What a home run. I wish I had clients who would realize that something that special is well worth the lead time it requires. These are a breath of fresh air in a world of mass marketing and cookie cutter design. I'm pinning. I'm pinning. I'm pinning.

I am sooooo jealous I can't see straight.
Does she do the monograhms by hand, or by machine?
I want to learn how to do cross stitch monograms, like the old grain sacks have.
These are beeootiful!

Hi Betsy,
The monograms are done by machine. They are cross stitch and look hand done. Check out her website. There is a link in the post. Unfortunately she only monograms her own fabrics. -Delores
