Be Our Guest

The galvanized water troughs in front of our wine country vacation rental finally got planted and what a difference it makes.

They added a lot of curb appeal, taking the cottages from bland to Wow!

I chose white Iceberg roses and decorative grasses for the containers, and also planted two cypress trees on either side of the gate.

Although there is still more to do to the cottage, it looks very charming and comfortable.

Last weekend we stayed here to see how comfortable it is for our guests, making lists of items we had forgotten, like tin foil, serving platters, a can opener, etc.

We lounged around the living room, unplugged and with nothing to do but read!
Old school style.
You know, read a book?

It was very relaxing after a day of shopping for the cottage and attempting to hang cafe lights, which is another story!

I thought they would add to the breezeway, but it proved to be too much of a challenge...

I chose high thread count sheets for the beds as well as high quality, comfortable mattresses, but until you actually spend the night here, there's no way of knowing whether the beds truly are comfortable.
So far, so good!

I'm hoping to add a hot tub later, but for now the only amenity is the vineyard view...

...and just the beauty and quiet of the wine country.
Very romantic!

What a wonderful job you have done of creating a welcoming and relaxing home away from home for blessed visitors. The beautiful wine country is so different from where I live in the deep south, that it is entrancing. Thank you for the invitation. I would love to think we could accept it one day.

Love your blog. Your vacation rental looks so inviting. We love visiting Napa, but usually stay in our RV at the EXPO RV Park. We would love to find an alternative RV location in a more rural location near Napa--have you ever thought about putting in a few RV sites near your vacation rental?
