When Antlers Meet Tartan

I lusted after these antlers on the Neimann Marcus website for a little too long because now they're gone.
The problem is, I couldn't decide which one I wanted.  The burlap, the red tartan or the green plaid.
I even had a couple in the shopping cart!
Too late, "you snooze, you lose!"

Then, along came this lovely...
On One King's Lane and I nabbed it!

Someone actually stretched the tartan fabric over the plaque and then if that wasn't enough, added the enamel number.
I swoon!

What I love is that it is vintage, authentic and hand made.
Don't get me wrong, I would still want one or more of the plaques from Neimann Marcus if they ever become available again, but this beauty is the real deal!

Tartan and antlers, a winning combination don't you think?

DEFINITELY a winner!!! Why, oh why do we have stuff in our cart (real or virtual) and not go for it??!?!?! Live and learn, I suppose. This, however, is a beautiful specimen, too, so you win!!!

I L O V E it!! not only do I love it, but where you have it hanging -- the whole look of the space, is over the top great. It is so gorgeously homey. I hadn't ever seen this tartan and antler look, and I must say it's my favorite. I'm not much for fake antlers, so this is doubly great. I have a little rack from my dad, the hunter, and it means so much to have a bit of him in our family room.

Less than two weeks ago I purchased the three small antlers from One Kings Lane, minus the tartan plaid plaque. I was really disappointed when they arrived because they are much smaller than described. Now I see them mounted on the plaid plaque and know they will work. Thank you for the inspiration. Contact OKL and see if they have any left or if they will be listing them again. They were less than $80 for the set. I love your blog and enjoy all of your beautiful posts.

I live on a ranch I have every antler , rug , hide imaginable in my home and love it. I have tons of horns that now i will be having mounted on various , fabrics. They are amazing . I saw these also but couldn't buy them knowing i could grab some out of the baskets overflowing in my home. My sons are constantly picking up sheds. Enjoyed your post. Thanks

Antlers are too darn adorable. I'm especially loving mine right now. They are a pair of honed white ceramic deer heads and antlers, flanking a favorite unframed oil portrait. Cheers Delores, Shiree'

I have been lusting over black forest antler plaques. That one looks great there. I think your curtains are made of the same fabric I have on my family room chairs...ralph lauren by any chance?!!

We have several sets of antlers around the house that were kind of boring, so I saw in a catalog ones with tartan backgrounds. I said to self, "I can do that!" So I took the antlers off their mounts, covered the mounts with plaid fabric, stapled it on the back to secure, reattached the antlers, and hung them on the walls. They look great and make me happy ever time I see them!
