Salt In The Sugar Bowl

When I was a kid, every year I put salt in my mother's sugar bowl on April Fools Day.
And every year, she fell for it!

I feel kind of bad about it now because as an adult, I know how much that first cup of coffee means in the morning...

...Only to have it ruined!
I loved seeing my mom's face as she took that first sip of coffee. "April Fools" I would shout.
I'm sorry Mom!

Happy April Fool's Day!

I'm wondering if Mom really knew and you were the one getting the April Fools joke ! We mothers tend to remember our kids little jokes !

Cute story...my brother played that practical joke on me when we were kids. Doubt it was April Fools day though, but he put salt in the sugar bowl knowing full well how I loved to shovel sugar on my cereal in the morning. He sat there watching and waiting till I took that first bite and then immediately spit it out out. To this day I cannot eat Cheerios without remembering how it tasted with salt instead of sugar.

Hi D! I love this story. One Christmas we got some apple pies from Costco and they had salt on top instead of sugar. We took them back and bought another one and lo and behold it had salt as well. The third time we tested it first, Too funny, but true story.
Salt in my morning cup of coffee would have been shocking to say the least. Happy April 1st!

You were a bad little girl back then, weren't you??? :-) All in fun, though! I think my Mother would have gone completely off the deep end had I done that to her!!! That woman is SERIOUS about her coffee!!!

Glad you lived to tell the tale! :-)
