Be Careful What You Wish For

If only remodeling could be like on TV.
But it's not and I'm only just beginning to realize the extent of our project!

While my head understands that you have to deconstruct in order to create, my heart took a plunge when I saw the progress of the demo, even though I couldn't wait to tear out everything!
Be careful what you wish for, right?

Emotionally, it was hard, even though I didn't like anything that was previously existing.
Like this stairway and railing...

Anything salvageable is being donated to Habitat for Humanity or recycled, not only to be green, but to assuage my guilt!

It's all good, I tell myself.
In the end, it will be exactly how we want it to be!

Once the demo is done and the house cleaned up, there will be a clean slate in order to work with.
Let the fun begin!

Delores, just think of it as the "ashes" before the "beauty"! This will be an exciting journey; and I can't wait to follow along!

It's so exciting to watch the progress! I'm getting a little nervous seeing all of that "stuff" on your wood floors. Are you planning to replace them?

oH D! I feel your pain! Demo is so hard, it always makes it look like it can never be put back together, BUT it can as you well know and this time it will be put together just like you design it. I know you have a million and one decisions to make and your mind is swimming. I am so excited for you, but also understand the angst that goes along with all of this. Hang in there sweetie,

Hi Delores,
I know exactly how you feel about the guilt. I get the keys to our new house on Friday, and we are promptly tearing out every surface in the house. It feels very decadent and wasteful. Habitat will take some of the stuff, but there is much that they won't take...like even though all the plumbing is brand new never used they won't take it! So I will try "Free" on craigslist. I know there are people starting out that would love some free help. Good luck!

Thank you so much for picking my card as one your winners from the teddies challenge, it is such an honour.
Thank you for all your hard work in making the challenge so successful, it's a shame that the challenge is ending but I can totally understand your reasons and wish you all the best.
