The Virtual Tour

Seeing the photos the photographer took for the virtual tour made the sale of our home a reality.
There is no turning back now!

I should caption every photo with a personal memory or two.
Like all the Christmas mornings spent in this living room.

Or all the dinners we ate in this room surrounded by family and friends.

The sunroom where we virtually lived!

The kitchen that saw so much activity and was prepared for anything that came its way.

The kitchen dining room saw even more family dinners and most recently, just us two.

Our family room.

The downstairs powder room, tucked under the stairs.
I don't think I ever featured this with its floral paintings.

The laundry room.

A bathroom for overnight guests.

This guest bedroom was where our mothers slept when they came to visit.
Bonnie calls it her room though!

The master bedroom.

Master bath.

Workout room, off the master.
I have no memories here as I never once used any of the equipment!

The upper deck off the master.

This was Alex's bedroom.

This bedroom wore many hats from den to guest bedroom.

This was Aaron's bedroom which became the granddaughter's room when they visit.

The reading room with balcony.

The bathroom that the boys used.
It was the first bathroom I ever remodeled, 15 years ago.

Over the garage is a suite of rooms, an office and two bedrooms.
This was where Ashley lived...

I remodeled the bathroom several years ago.

My favorite "room" is outside under the tent!
Luckily, I can take the tent with us!

Through the arbor...

The hot tub.

So many memories!

This week the kitchen floors are being refinished.
We'll have inspections and then two open houses on Saturday and Sunday.

So beautiful, Delores! It will be hard for you to leave it, I'm sure.♡

You have a beautiful home and I am sure it will sell quickly. Then I think you will be not only happy but a little bit sad. We are soon to put our tiny home on the market and I am making my husband change out all the door knobs so I can keep all of the old ones my children touched as they grew. Sentimental, that's me!

This is quite possibly the most beautiful, perfect home I've ever seen a "real" person live in. I will forever covet that dining room wallpaper!!!!! Plus, if you don't have a spot for your green velvet couch in the new house, I would love to take it off your hands. Just sayin':-)

Your house is perhaps the most beautifully staged home I've ever seen. It's homey but it's refined...blended perfectly. I love it. I think it will sell quickly.

Oh Delores. I can hear all the warm, sentimental feelings you have about your home as I read this post. We also left our family home in March and relocated to Southern California. We had raised our boys in the home and like you, I had mixed feelings. Excitement for the future, but also years of precious memories stored in each room that had been lovingly decorated. Can I make a suggestion? The best thing we did was take a video around with our boys and we each told stories as we went through the rooms. It was actually surprising to hear what came out of everyone’s mouth and we laughed so much. It ended up being the best way to bring closure to the house and honestly, the one surprise I’ve had now that I’m in our fixer-upper is that I have no regrets. No sadness, no missing any part of the house really, because all those memories came with us. The funny thing is I was worried that I was leaving them behind …inside the home we'd created. And maybe it sounds silly, but moving has reminded me that Home is where the people are. It’s where our family and friends are, and the memories keep coming...wherever we go.
I’m so excited for you. But pace yourself, it’s a bit of a roller coaster.

Delores, I will miss seeing posts from this beautiful home. I've come to love it and though I've not ever been in your home, I feel as if I've made memories there too. You beautiful tablesettings will remain in my mind forever. I can't imagine that this house will be on the market very long. A new family will be making memories here soon, and you will be opening a new book of your own. Exciting times!

Oh Delores, I know how you feel. We left our home after 29 years, and it was where we raised our kids and had SO many memories. But life goes on and changes. Your home is gorgeouys and it should sell very quickly. I will be thinking of you as you move forward. BTW, can you share the color that is in your master bedroom? I love it!!! XO

Your home is absolutely beautiful, Delores! I personally would have staked out that Reading Room and made it exclusively mine! It's perfect! It's always bittersweet making these transitions, and there are always powerful reasons for making changes. You'll make your new home as beautiful and welcoming as your last one, and in the process, you'll make some wonderful new memories!

I just highlighted your home on my blog, perhaps it will inspire a buyer! I did it because your home has always been a favorite of mine, and I've loved watching what you have done with it, especially over the Christmases. Good luck with the sale. I hope everything goes your way.

Oh Delores, it is so beautiful. Your readers are going to miss your home as well, but I have not doubt (and I'm sure they don't either) that your next home will be every bit as beautiful, because you will make it so~

Good luck with the open house. Like everyone else, I'm sure it's going to sell fast.

Although it's beautiful and we have followed your transformations in design and I personally have loved every inch of it, Delores, I am so looking forward to the intriguing beauty you will be creating in your new city home of beauty. I'm thinking I am loving now your new home more. Your new home just feels like a city apartment in Paris :)
I am wondering how you will be decorating it, how much of the old will be changed and how different it will all fill in their new surroundings.

Gorgeous, gorgeous tour!!! As much as I know you hate to part with your absolutely stunning, spacious home, full of heartfelt memories, isn't it wonderful knowing you can take the memories with you? We just moved, too, and, trust me, I sat on the floor, in the middle of our sons' playroom, and just bawled! Now, we're making new memories in our new house, and I know your family and you will do the same! :)
