"Stormageddon2" hit hard last weekend with torrential rain and wind gusts as high as 65 mph.
We had broken hurricanes, candlesticks and flower pots but the tent really suffered damage.
Somehow the tent must have been airborne because one leg literally jumped the fence and landed in the neighbor's yard.
Speaking of legs, I'm afraid it is on its last one! In fact two of the legs are now bent.
This Zgallerie tent has been such a source of joy for us and I'm just not ready to let it go yet!
I'm hoping it can be salvaged for the time being.
We will rebuild!
Oh my goodness! It's so hard when this happens. Some years ago at our former home, wind blew several large oaks into the swimming pool, knocked down a new fence, etc. Such a sickening feeling! Hope you can get everything 'fixed'!
I am so sorry your tent flew the coop, literally. Wasn't it amazing? We have never had wind and rain that hard here. We have three redwoods behind our house and we were keeping a close eye on them. There was debris all over our yard from the trees, but no damage here. Hopefully you can rescue your canopy from Z-gallerie.
I live in a windy area. VERY WINDY and have learned a trick or two to help keep things in place. You can cement the legs of your tent into the ground to keep it stable. And when you know weather will be this bad, remove the canopy and store it in the house. also, put your pots beneath your iron benches for protection. Good luck next time. Kathryn
Mother Nature does as she pleases, doesn't she. We lost our only shade tree last year and I am still sick about it. Our backyard faces south and I don't know if we will be able to sit on the porch all summer.
I don't know where you live but I hope this was a once-in-a-lifetime event. I love everything you had outside for your comfort and pleasure, and I'm sure it'll be just as wonderful again before too long.
So sorry, Delores! Your yard is so beautiful and will be once more, I know. Thankfully no one got hurt.
Sorry you had such damage. Hopefully you can repair the tent. '-)
Wishing you blue skies and sunshine. ;-)
Oh, my! That must have been some wind! So sad about your tent! Bummer! I hate when something happens to a loved piece, hopefully you'll be able to fix it!
Wow...you will fix it! There were lots of downed tree limbs on Hyde. Good to have rain though. I'm in San Diego now and its so warm!
WOW! How scary! I know it will be even better soon.
Sorry about the damage to your patio. Hope you can repair the tent.
OMgosh it was a windy day
I bet the legs can be fixed well enough to keep using your tent
Sorry this happened
I am absolutely positive this can be fixed; and won't even be very expensive!!!
Yikes! I feel your pain! My husband and I are on our 3rd canopy, because of storm damage. We were crazy enough to go outside during a really BAD storm and try to hold the canopy up. What the heck were we thinking???? It can be heartbreaking when you have everything looking so pretty and BAM, one bad storm ruins everything, but I always tell myself that things could be a lot worse.
Delores, I just put together a post on the shades of green. I included two of your photos and of course gave you credit. I hope this is okay with you, if not I can remove.
