Springtime in Asti

It's Springtime in Asti.
The birds and the bees are very busy!
The flora and fauna are beginning to emerge.

The workers in the vineyard are busy.....

.....and we got busy too, planting herbs, tomatoes, geraniums and succulents in the garden.

I'm just discovering succulents and am hoping this is a good choice for these urns that don't get water on a regular basis.

I think they look nice all grouped together.

Red geraniums and Bacopa went in the two urns by the pool.

They are on a drip system, so hopefully they will grow....

The Mulberry tree is beginning to bud.

It will provide much appreciated shade for al fresco dining when temperatures can reach 100 degrees in the summer.

Walking around, I noticed the first white roses blooming on the "Iceburg" rose bushes.

The volunteer Nasturtiums are spreading out.

The Rosemary bushes are covered with little purple blossoms.

And again, the bees are very, very busy.
What a glorious First Day of Spring!

It's Outdoor Wednesday over at A Southern Daydreamer. Susan hosts this party every week, so be sure to visit and see other outdoor photos.
I'm also joining Heidi at Heart and Home for Wednesday Gratitude. Be sure to visit her too for much appreciation and inspiration.
I'm joining Gina for Transformation Thursday at the Shabby Chic Cottage also. Check it out!

With that gorgeous setting, just short of planting weeds, anything would look beautiful. Thanks for sharing the beauty of your world through your eyes.

Hi Delores I just read you comment about that last room pictured. I just love you, I love that you are really thinking about this a lot!! I guess you could call that room more earthy since it does have some brown undertones in the wall. What I love about it is the light airy feel and all the fun elements. It is fairly monchromatic but with some greenery it comes alive. I would probably add more green but all the elements I love are in that room and the value of the colors more than the colors themselve. It does have a linen/color to me. I know your home is all in earthtones and I can say nothing but OMG how wonderful and inviting it is. I would love to sit in your sun room for hrs. You have amazing taste and you are very observant and insightful. Like I said, I just love you!!! Thank you for making me feel like I did a good job on my post, You are the BEST!! Kathysue

Everything looks beautiful! I live on the opposite side of the country and can't wait until we have the weather that you are getting to actually do some planting. Last year I started working with succulents and made a succulent garden in an apple-shaped birdbath.

Your pictures are divine! And if you don't mind me asking... may I move in with you?!? Your home is stunning and I mean stunning! I love the vineyards and miss our home in German where we looked up the hill and saw the vineyards. I even got to clip grapes one season with the family! My in-laws lived in Italy for a while and these pictures reminded me of their home. Just so lovely and your eye for photography is just gorgeous!

Hi Delores! fabulous photos of your gardening day... Hubby and I are still on vacation in SPI (I'll post more photos of the beach for you this week) but when we get home we will be doing the same as you guys... planing our pots... I love the succulent garden in the urn... They should do fine. Most of my pots are on drip too... So I feel free to travel all year long and never have to worry about watering... Keep those photos coming... I love them.

Love the photos - what a beautiful view!!!!! I have not had a lot of luck with succulents where I live now. To soon to plant a lot here just yet, however, I did buy some ferns and a few petunias today. May end up bringing them inside a time or two.

Hi Delores, what an inviting view you have. Your break of Spring is gorgeous. We are starting to get closer to Spring time temperatures in our area, although the trees and flowers are still being quite shy of showing off their beauty... would love to sit with you on a lazy Spring afternoon on your beautiful veranda.. hugs ~lynne~
