"Grapes on the vine, in clusters they're hung, soon to be jelly, so run fox run."
We have so many grapes this year, but they are taking they're time to ripen because of our cool summer. Last year, we made a lot of sorbet out of our grapes.
They are Concord grapes and are so sweet. This year I plan to make jelly. I'm already researching the perfect canning jar! They will make great Christmas gifts, don't you think?
This photo was taken two years ago. Um, I think we're going to need a bigger basket!

I'll send you my address! They look divine.
I was wondering if your comments have been lacking lately... everytime I visit here lately my computer freezes... I don't know why that is, but it gives me trouble everytime. I love your post and you and want to visit often, but I get afraid...lol Has anyone else had this problem?
These photos are just simply BEAUTIFUL! Makes me want to move to California and become a wine maker...
A bigger basket and some people to help you eat that jelly...wink, wink.
Re: Room Service Freeze...nope, I haven't had any problems. I love your post. It always makes me feel like I've just taken a mini vacation. The grape jelly sounds like a marvelous undertaking...and Christmas shopping for friends will be done! Thank you for sharing your lovely vignette. Cherry Kaya
I enjoy your posts a lot. I can relate to the pleasure of picking your own grapes from the vine. My grape vines died last year, because my Kiwi vines took over the arbor and suffocated grapes. We planted again this year. Hope fully I get some next year. Don't you love California living?
GM Delores, what gorgeous images, they look like a picture out of Sunset magazine!!! I think a big basket is in order and maybe some smaller ones to house your grape jelly. That would be a wonderful gift, canning a lost art for sure, Kathysue
Jars of homemade grape jelly will make great Christmas gifts! Pretty photos, especially the last one.
There is nothing ike homemade jelly! That would make such a lovely and very special Christmas gift. Gorgeous photos, Delores.
I am jealous. We are having a dud year with our grapes. Yours are so plump and yummy looking.
I agree with Kathysue your photos look like they
should be in Sunset mag.
I remember that pioneer woman blog has shown some really cute canning jars I think about a year a go on her blog.
Enjoying your blog.
Chris
All those grapes look so good. That will make great gifts. Nothing like grape jelly and I bet homemade is even better.
We had some wild grapes, when we moved in, that were very picturesque but taking over everything. When they were ripening, one afternoon, Tom walked out and saw a coyote luxuriously snacking on them! They tasted TERRIBLE, though. I think that I'll try hydrangeas or hollyhocks there, instead.
Love, Katy
You just know that these photos are glorious. We all LOVE that last one - always have, always will!
Dearest Delores,
We used to have these Concord grapes too but we gave up on them as too many birds, squirrels and raccoons were feasting on them!
Your photos look so impressive; what a yield!

Absolutely stunning pictures. What is it about grapes on the vine that is so sensuous looking? Wow, spectacular pictures!
Beautiful! I never seen real multi-colored grapes like that! I just want to eat some, they look so juicy! I love grapes!
They may be taking their time to ripen but they're certainly making for some lovely pictures. Good luck with the canning!
Cheers!

All the standard canning jars work well but if you really a show stopper of a jar check out the WECK canning jars. I use them a lot and they even have one for Asparagus! I'll send you the link.
