The Cost Plus Makeover Final Reveal

Yesterday, I babysat for my favorite "clients!"
While my granddaughters napped, I took the opportunity to do some more staging and a follow-up photo shoot in their new Cost Plus living room.

Remember, it all started with these darling blue damask chairs.
Since then, I've added the bookshelf which is seen in the corner. Perfect for all their children's books!

A lamp that didn't quite go in my house, found a new home between the new chairs.
It was one of those impulse purchases from OKL. So glad it works here!

The end table was yet another Cost Plus purchase. The lamp and tray are from my collection.

Not bad hand-me-downs--right?

I also bought as many kubu wicker baskets as I could find. Cost Plus is phasing these out, so I was lucky to find this one which tucks neatly under the table.

The mantel is simply styled with mercury glass and silver candle holders.
I added a little fall foliage to warm things up.

Opposite the fireplace, I added another etagere, which was needed to complete the media wall, and also provides a lot more storage opportunities.

More kubu wicker baskets and lined chicken wire baskets are ready to hold CDs, books, magazines, etc.

I found this wine box in my garage and thought it would fit perfectly on the bottom shelf, elevating the components to basket height. I love how it adds that unexpected touch.

The blue houndstooth pillows that I ordered from The Foundary were delivered today, just in time for the photo shoot!

Although a little big, they add a punch of color and weight to this side of the room.

In the perfect world, this is how the living room would look!
But we all know that isn't realistic.

This family now has a fresh, new look with lots of storage for the toys and books that belong to these two darling little girls who, as you can see, just woke up from their naps!

Do you~all ever get stuck re-staging your own home? I NEED a super VIGNETTE styler to bounce off of!

Susan, I just posted a FABulous cabinet on FB I saw this weekend for the master. New hardwood flooring and bathroom maker over with a large steam shower for this one's pain in the plans. It just doesnt blend with the Traditional/beach/Tommy Bahama look going on. Do I change it ALL up just for the cabinet? ahhhhhhhhhh

What a sweet Gramma re-staging your girlz' room. Lil' ones are precious. O, how I love being a Gramma to 7.

Who said you have to spend big bucks to get the look you want? Your makeover proves this statement is untrue! Thanks for sharing this lovely makeover! Hugs

With those little cuties in the house don't forget that the bookcase should be anchored to the wall. And mabe the etages, also.

Delores,
I love all the storage (baskets) that you worked in for your family. There is never enough places to put children's items...but you have done just that with style! The lamp is a perfect accent piece with the chairs. The addition of the tray just keeps pulling this gorgeous look together. Pillows too large...not when you have little ones in the house. They will be great for extra seating on the floor for those little ladies! All~in~all the smiles of the faces of the children says it all...
Fondly,
Pat

I have just discovered your blog, its really lovely. Gosh those chairs are so reasonable, I wish that I lived in the USA instead of NZ, it is so expensive here to makeover things. I have just done my bedroom and put old French shutters up behind my bed but it cost me $320 for the pair of shutters then eeek...$190 to hang them :(...turns out the man who came to hang them (The Hangman) charges himself out at $90 per hour so my headboard cost me a lot more than I had imagined.

I will be back to see more makeovers as I love them.

You know it certainly pays to buy something that calls to you. Even if you don't know why, where or what you'll do with it. It always works out; it all finds a home. Lovely, homey space!
