Industrial Chic

Funky Junk Interiors
Lately, I've become a fan of industrial style.
Not that I want to start adding a whole new element to my home, but adding a piece here and there definitely spices things up.

The City Sage
For example, a rusty, crusty metal piece like above would be such a workhorse in a kitchen or a bathroom.

A Well Traveled Woman
And how cool would this old school locker be in a kid's bedroom or bathroom?

Speaking of bathrooms, this new industrial cabinet that Mr. A found at a San Francisco consignment store packs a punch in the powder room in Asti.

My biggest challenge is what to put in it!
It really needs to be in a bathroom that has a shower so I could fill it with stack of white towels.

Isn't it great though?
Our first (and only) industrial piece of furniture!

So neat. I love it. Lots of fluffy, crisp white handtowels for your guests would fill it up nicely.

Hello there, I haven't dropped by for a while...love your recent posts...industrial...love it, have lots of bits 'n pieces that fall into that category...enamel ware...am building a collection here in England...much easier to find than in Oz...and on the subject of copper...I've been in a quandary whether or not to start collecting...it would have to be old...and can be pricey...but I did weaken recently and purchased my first piece, a large mould of some sort which is hanging on my kitchen wall..I'm now on the look out for the odd piece...it never ends!! How about a stack of fluffy white handtowels? A basket or another enamelware piece full of lovely soaps? A set of pharmacy bottles? A big bowl of potpourri - fall colors now and evergreens in Christmas? A small lamp? A vintage toiletries set? A stack of vintage postcards from Europe? Large factice (dummy) perfume bottles? These are the items I rotate in my own powder rooms throughout the year. I'm sure whatever you choose it will be beautiful!

Love it and I think a huge stack of hand towels is called for. You know me, nothing prettier than a stack of white towels. Great find and a perfect addition to the Asti bathroom. xo Kathysue

Very Cool. I'm sure you'll have no problem coming up with ideas on what to fill it with. Can't wait to see.

We've added a few industrial pieces here and there to the shop and they always do well! I do think it helps in this day and age to spice it up a bit! And it's great looking as well! I love a good mix!

Great piece. Good for Mr. A. I don't doubt that you'll fill this space with something perfectly charming. You have great style!

what we often refer to as 'modern day'. What is considered the modern style of design, really refers to the word 'modern' as a noun, not an adjective. Whichever set of words best describes the meaning of modernism for each person, it all comes down to one basic concept: simple versus ornate.
