Ever since the kitchen went green, I've been planning to repurpose the dining room drapes for the window over the sink.
I ordered the oak rod from Restoration Hardware, and Ryan the Contractor installed it.
Trust me, if I did, it would not be level!
Although the draperies make the kitchen even darker, it's also very cozy.
For now, they are folded up, but I will get my scissors out soon and hem them to just about an inch from the counter.
I love how the brown floral warmed up the kitchen, just in time for winter.
Which is just around the corner.
How did it get to be November already?

Delores, they do add a touch of warmth and look great with the green cabinets. Your kitchen is totally charming.......Sarah
I love the changes in your kitchen. The colors are just perfect and I love the rich palette of the curtains. Well done! Happy November!
Your kitchen is just beautiful! Love the marble. Just a quick question--why didn't you go all the way to the ceiling with the shades & drapes? Seems such a shame to cover up so much of that wonderful window. Just a thought....
I like the warmth the draperies bring Delores, but I also would love to see them shorter, as you well say. Have a great weekend.

Hi Theresa,
What the photos don't show is that just above the window moulding, the wall curves into the ceiling. It's not straight. So, that's why I had to install the rod above the window, it would be hanging almost upside-down otherwise! ~Delores
Every time I see your green cupboards and marble counters, I smile!! Love them! That fabric really adds to the beauty of your kitchen. As always you stay true to who you are and what vision you have for your home, one of the many things I love about you.
I posted my Thanksgiving tables from the past today. I am trying to get inspired to come up with something!
Happy First Day Of November
These are gorgeous and make your kitchen even more wonderful!! I have the same fabric on my kitchen curtains, and I love it! great decision to repurpose them.
They look beautiful Delores! Very cozy!
Great way to repurpose your drapes. I really love your kitchen.
Everything you touch comes out gorgeous!
Beautiful treatments. The RH rod looks great so your installer must have done a good job! - Tonya

Those curtains are perfect for late fall and winter - very warm and cozy.
Beautiful!
Have a fabulous weekend, Elizabeth
Beautiful, just like I knew they would be when you first told us your plans. I know you can hardly wait ti decorate this space for Christmas. It will be spectacular!
xxoo
It looks great!
Perfect for the cozy seasons ahead!!!
Like your new curtains in the kitchen. Although I find myself getting rid of curtains in my house in an attempt to make it brighter and lighter, this time of year, I do like to be a little more closed up. Somehow it just feels more comforting and the darker colors make it feel cozy.
Also, love the green cupboards!

I had some that look very similar. Love the look in your kitchen. So cozy!
Your kitchen is so inviting Delores. I love every inch of it.
So, you too have an issue with drapes leveling. :P The measuring and leveling of window treatments is quite a difficult job, made even more so by the fact that it would greatly affect your home’s interior décor. I like the design you picked, by the way. It really emits a cozy feeling, although it’s a little dark. Well, you can always use lights. ;)

@Roxie: Yeah, it may seem a little dark, but I think it created a soothing atmosphere in the kitchen, especially with that lamp beside the window. It’s really nice to look at it whenever you’re drinking tea or coffee. :)
