Making A Statement With Napkin Rings

Lucullus
I don't always use napkin rings with my tablescapes, but when I do, I like to make a statement.
The napkin rings above are from Lucullus...

...and were my inspiration for a tablescape I did last year, using both "Monsieur" and "Madame" napkin rings found on One Kings Lane.

Lucullus
Silver napkin rings are highly collectible and I think they look great when mixed and matched.

Paris Hotel Boutique
Like these from Paris Hotel Boutique, which definitely make a statement.

Napkin rings don't have to be sterling silver to make a statement.
Here, I used hand made wooden rings found on Etsy for a rustic tablescape.

Ralph Lauren
Ralph Lauren's table setting used an equestrian style leather napkin ring.

For a tablescape I did last year for Tartan Week, I took a plain pewter napkin ring and glued a tartan ribbon, hoping to replicate a tartanware napkin ring.

Pinterest
Like these!
They are on my collectible list, but unfortunately are way to expensive for me.
Still, I keep looking for a deal.

It's all in the presentation.
A simple wicker napkin ring can be embellished with a red rose...

...or even a fishing fly!

Don't have a napkin ring?  Tie the napkin with twine!
For a tablesetting I did for our book club, I used twine around the written word.

Joss & Main
Last, but not least, my newest napkin rings.
Simple, clean, but still making a statement.
"Dine"
And that's the point!

Love the silver ones, they are always so wonderful to find and collect. The leather one from Ralph Lauren is so unique and pretty, love that. Great find on the "dine" ones. Hugs, Marty

Beautiful post! I am very inspired to do a post like yours and show my vintage sterling napkin rings from the family engraving initials in each. I love the silver too. Big hugs,

Very pretty. I love how you made your own tartan ring. You did a good job.
My heart beats a little faster when I look at those silver ones...either vintage or made to look vintage...I love them all.

Delores,
I love this post. I collected sterling napkin rings for awhile...when I got to 8 of them I quit. This makes me want to resume my collection. I'm with you, I've always loved tartanware, never been able to find it at any kind of bargain.

Delores, we are thinking alike again. I have a post in Draft that I've been putting together featuring my different napkin rings. I have always loved to use napkin rings but for years have only had our pewter ones and our antique silver ones we've collected in the past 20 years. Since blogging I've been adding more variety when I see something unusual or distinctive. Or I tie my napkins with ribbon or raffia or .... The silver ones from Lucullus are gorgeous. I'm off to visit the site asap. I was a lucky winner of a blog giveaway of The Monsieur and Madame ones like yours from Kings Lane. Will hope to share my napkin ring post soon. Love seeing this one. Will need to look for some rustic bark rings. ;-)

I like napkin rings and have parted with misc. random ones, just realized I don't have a set. Could be fun to look for in antique stores without breaking the bank. Except for your tartan set I guess. Have you considered doing a 101 table setting, maybe showing if we could only have TWO sets of placemats which you would have/get? Impossible to say? That may sound like a joke and I don't think collections of beautiful tablescapes come from TWO sets of anything! But I'd love to know how to slowly add the right accessories. Enjoy your weekend!

Oh! Dearest Delores,
Your setting and inspiration napkin settings with the design of there rings are fabulous. I love the filigree look of the silver and the beautiful designs, yet the book club ones are so creative for just that, I could just see the ladies showing up at your home to discuss the monthly book and see the table placed in such a manner of book pages tied to the napkin, your presentation wows!
Love your idea with the tartan plaid idea so festive.

I then had to go catch up on all the past postings and have to say I feel the same way if not old cookware it has to be good cookware that makes not only the experience of cooking a meal but the art of it feel just right adding the right kind of rightness to its taste.

Delores, it truly is never a disappointment when one visits you, your home designs amaze, and what inspires you is so unique. I would love to experience that under the Tuscan Sun experience here at your home, taking in the beauty all around you.
Blessings, and I will see you soon.

O, and thank you dearly for taking time to grace your beauty over at my place and best taking the time to leave a comment that joys my heart.

I love napkin rings. They're like the jewelry on the table.

I have some Madame and Monsieur napkin rings too. I really like to use napkin rings when my napkins are ironed... I have such a pile of unpressed napkins. Beautiful post...its all in the details :)
