The Black Forest Prints In The Winter Dining Room

The Black Forest prints I bought in New Orleans arrived last week.
I had no idea where they would end up.

After trying several locations, the dining room seemed like the best idea because the wallpaper really made them stand out.

I've never seen anything quite like these frames.
The carvings are the size of a quarter, yet look at the detail.

Detail of one of the prints.
I believe it's a river in France.

I ended up separating the pair, the river scene on the right...

The deer sketchings on the left, over the cabinet.

For now, they are at home in the dining room which is in its winter phase with the mini Fraser Fir tree, pine cones, bird's nest...

...and pine cone candles.

And the new slipcovers!

"The Winter Dining Room"
Do you think it looks like Christmas still?
Uh oh, I'm feeling a tablescape coming on!

Those prints and frames are amazing and they do look wonderful against your wallpaper. And no, I don't think it looks like Christmas on your table - winter is the right word. Very warm and homey!

Love those prints! No, I don't think your room looks like Christmas, it looks like winter! I still have out a few trees and pinecones too. Might as well take advantage of the wintry season to have beautiful decor:)

LOVE The black forest frames! Would love to know the store you found them in! I am going to see our daughter in just a few weeks…we sell a lot of black forrest at my shop and it's always been a huge favorite of mine! Also, your chandelier is one of my favorites! We've loved having it in the shop…we don't have it at the moment but I think its fabulous and would love to carry it again!

I like the fact that you have your own ideas about decor. You have picked up on some of the trends out there (you started scaring me for awhile) but it's still looks like you are someone with your own mind and taste.

Delores, these prints and the frames are fabulous! They look just right in the dining room with that wallpaper and the light colored mat really makes them shine. I hope you do get the urge for a tablescape because they always inspire me. I always wonder if you let people actually eat on those beautiful slipcovers, especially as the fabric is so special! What amazing frames. They look perfect in your winter dining room. In fact I think they make your room complete. I love the little set of chamois antlers in the display case that ties them in too. Perfect.

*** Wow, Delores... this time I truly really WOULD give anything for those FABULOUS prints ANNNNND those INCREDIBLE frames!!! They couldn't be better suited to/for us!!!

... And guess what??? I FINALLLLY found a large pinecone "planter" like yours, which I've been coveting "since I first saw it"! I found it on either E-Bay or Etsy (can't remember)... the gentleman wanted $900 for it (Yes, that's NOT a typo!)... After composing myself, I did something I've never done, & wrote to see "JUST IN CASE" if we could work on the price... he was "willing" to talk a "little", but the price was STILLLLL more than I was comfy with spending... oh, "sugar"!!!!

As always, a delicious & lovvvvely blog today!!!

Linda
