A Fisherman's Dinner Tablescape

After several months of being a fishing widow, I'm happy to say that fishing season is coming to an end.
To celebrate, I created a table setting for a fisherman's dinner for Mr. A and his fishing buddies.

A lovely woodland river stream with ferns and wildlife was the inspiration for the centerpiece.

Leaving the Norfolk Pine tree on the table since Christmas made it easy to build around it!

Ferns, a bird's nest under glass and pine cones on a burlap runner complete the centerpiece.

I used tartan plaid placemats and matching napkins for a masculine feel.

At each place setting, I added a fly from Mr. A's collection to the wicker napkins rings.

I layered the Spode brown transferware salad plates over brown and green majolica with faux bois enamelware chargers as the foundation.

Vintage silverplate, deer horn knives and green crystal wine goblets complete the setting.

Ironically, fish is not the main course at this dinner.
That's because Mr. A and his fishing buddies "catch and release."

I don't have a problem with that at all, but it would be nice once in a while to eat fresh steelhead!

Delores, I love the fishing theme tables you've done for Mr. A and his buddies. I've returned to the one you did a few years ago, again and again. This one will no doubt receive frequent returns so I can take in all the special details. The faux bois chargers are perfect. I spotted those in Kathryn Greeley's Collected Tabletop and decided I need to find a set. Love that look. Who makes them?
I may be thinking about spring, but have to say that stack of browns and greens thrills me. Mother Nature offers such variety! Thanks for sharing!

The fisherman's tablescape is wonderful! The faux bois chargers are new to me. Can't believe that I missed those on One King's Lane. You must have swooped in on them...great get! The mix of greens and browns with the touches of plaid and burlap are charming...and one can never go wrong with Bordallo and Woodland Spode. I really like this! The fishing ties attached to the napkins rings is a superb idea. Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay

This couldn't be more perfect! I love everything about it. I have been drooling over those Golden Rabbit faux bois chargers, but I have so much faux bois that it's starting to look like Paul Bunyan lives here. Thanks for another lovely, lovely post.

This tablescape is Spode beautiful, original, and inspiring! The ferns, nest, and wood accents "catch" the eye and hold the wow. My nephew is getting married in July, and I am hoping to find a vintage set of fish plates for their wedding gift. Your set is wonderful!

The green and brown combination is my favorite - but I have so many of your tablescapes saved as my favorites! I love this one, the wild game birds, the Christmas...keep the inspiration coming!
I do have a question about your lovely green damask wallpaper. Do you happen to know the manufacturer or pattern? I just love it. Green is such a happy color.
Thanks for all of the wonderful tables - Elisa
