Retail Therapy On Sacramento Street

Last week, I spent an afternoon on Sacramento Street for some girlfriend time and retail therapy.
It has been years since I shopped this San Francisco district.  In fact, my friend and I were remembering that Shabby Chic was the favorite store back then.
Now it's Hudson Grace and Anthem, two lovely home decor stores, packed full of eye candy!

Hudson Grace is the new kid on the block, having just opened late 2012.
While not a huge store, its merchandise is carefully selected and beautifully displayed.

Partners Monelle Totah and Gary McNatton share a vision of simple, clean and neutral decor.
They believe there is longevity in simplicity and sell items that make a house a home.

I love how they displayed Cire Trudon candles under a cloche.  When the cloche is lifted, you can smell the candle's scent.

Hudson Grace has a nice selection of vintage hotel silver.

There is a huge table in the middle of the store with stacks of design books.
We each bought Rooms to Inspire by the Sea, by Annie Kelly.
I highly recommend it!

Down the street is Anthem, a home decor and furnishings store.
I could have stayed here all day, there is so much to take in!

There is so much to see here.  In the back corner of the store there is a beautiful kitchen.
I love the marble, stainless sink and the cabinet hardware.

This one of a kind table had my heart skipping a beat.
I could just imagine it in Asti!
The price tag however was way over my budget!

We ended up walking out with our pocketbooks still intact, but also with lots of ideas.

There's nothing like shopping to work up an appetite!
Having a late lunch at the quintessential San Francisco restaurant, Garibaldi's was the perfect way to end our day.

For more information on San Francisco's Sacramento Street, visit their website here for a list of shops, antique stores, boutiques and restaurants.

Anthem is wonderful! I was hoping to peek inside Hudson & Grace last weekend. We moved my daughter from Presidio Heights out to the burbs...no time for shopping unfortunately!

Delores, you are making my heart yearn for a SF trip. I've fond memories of shopping the different areas of SF. There are wonderful areas to be discovered in your city. Thanks for taking us along today.

I have only been to San Francisco once with not nearly enough time to see all the wonderful places. We did leave with a list for the next time we get down there though.
Those stores are so nice. Really clean, uncluttered lines. Stuff you won't tire of soon.

Both those stores look absolutely amazing! I could spend so much time (and too much $$) in stores like that. Not to mention that I also love San Francisco...such a gorgeous city.

Love the second photo, wanting to buy up the hand tossed pottery, the bread cutting boards and everything in sight, is there window just not the cutest ?
I so wish I were your shopping buddy it would have been an added bonus to shop by your side.

Keep inspiring your grace and beauty in all things with wow-ness !!

Oh my word! How fun! These are my favorite kinds of shops! I have to MAKE myself not stray too far from antiques when I would love to be selling this kind of merchandise! I do mix it in when I can! And Rooms To Inspire By The Sea….I ordered it strictly for ME!!! I've never sold it even though I sell ton's of design books!!! I love it that much! It sits at our beach home and I for one will be reading it once again from cover to cover this weekend! Take care! Thanks for this wonderful post! One of these days I will be back to show my husband my old stomping grounds! That I was way too young to remember but my mom tells me about all of the time!

Hey, Delores! THAT'S what I call shopping grounds!!! I probably wouldn't have been able to afford any of it, but it sure it fun to look, wish, dream, and work it through in my head to a budget I can handle! Do you have any idea what kind of wood that was on that one really cool table that you liked so much? I LOVE that! Both stores were bursting at the seams with fabulous stuff!!!!!!!
