A Fisherman's Luncheon

Since Mr. A is an avid fly fisherman, I decided to set a fishing themed table for an al fresco luncheon.
I used these salad plates from Spode depicting rainbow trout and salmon.

I layered them on a basic white plate, then set them on feathered placemats that I found in Texas. The bone fish knife set is a recent purchase from a consignment store.

For the centerpiece, I put daisies in a fishing creel and set a vintage fisherman on a stack of fishing books. I even put a couple of fishing rods on the table!

I used hand tied flies as decoration on the napkin rings. They are all unique and one of a kind. Some were tied by Mr. A!

I used my two vintage wine glasses with a hunting theme etched on the side. Wish I had more of these!

This fisherman is actually a decanter of scotch whiskey! Mr. A "inherited" it from my girlfriend's father who was also an avid fisherman.

What a lovely warm spring day, perfect for an al fresco lunch, celebrating Mr. A's return from a very long fishing trip in New Zealand.

Welcome home!

I have included a few photos of Mr. A's fishing trip to New Zealand. I was amazed how gorgeous it is there.

A beautiful stream seen from the helicopter.

The helicopter left them in this desolate stream to fish to their heart's content!

How beautiful is this turquoise water?

What a beautiful brown trout!

I'm joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday. Be sure to visit her to see more table settings, dishes and centerpieces.

It's Show and Tell Friday over at My Romantic Home, so I'm join Cindy for her weekly party!

I love your placemats!! My husband loves the picture of the brown trout!! My parents went to New Zealand and came back with the same response. They said it was beautiful.
I'm sure you know this, but if you do not. You can take a pencil etching of your glasses and send it to Replacements Ltd. They will be able to tell you the pattern and can also set you up on a search list... If you want more of them bad enough... Good luck and great pictures!

Love your fish themed table setting. That fisherman on the books is great. The water in those New Zealand pics is just so crystal clear and the prettiest shade of aqua. My brother in law is fly fishing this week in the Smokie Mountains. He loves fly fishing.

What a beautiful setting for the Spode! I do love the Woodland so much. I have thought of adding the "Hunting dogs" to my horse collection since there are only four of the horses. This is just gorgeous!

Love that unique table setting! My husband would love it. He, too, is an avid fly fisherman. He's just now coming back home from a fishing/camping trip from The Smokey Mtns in NC. He would be soooo jealous of your husband getting to go somewhere as incredible as New Zealand to fish. I'll be sure to show him these pics when he gets home!!

Delores, this is a perfect welcome home gesture. The beauty and creativity of your Fisherman's Luncheon table matches the beauty seen in those photos of your husband's recent trip. How amazing to see that turquoise water in a stream. The Spode plates are wonderful in any of the woodland series, but it's your attention to detail that really makes this table. Bravo! This is one of my favorite tables!
