I have been creating this tablescape in my mind for a couple of weeks now.
I wanted to focus on natural materials like burlap, linen and wicker, and a monochromatic color scheme of white and tan.
First, I set a folding table under the tent and covered it with a burlap tablecloth.
I used my wicker charger plates again from Ballard Designs, and topped it off with these lovely cream colored plates. They have a warm tan wash that compliments the wicker.
The French chairs recently reupholstered in coffee sack burlap fit in perfectly.
Underneath it all is an indoor/outdoor leopard rug.
Cream matelasse placemats and linen napkins complete the table.
The centerpiece is a vintage cachepot from my mother-in-law in white porcelain.
I tucked a clay pot inside with marguerite daisies and wrapped it all up with a burlap ribbon.
I couldn't believe my luck when I found this hanging candle holder at TJ Maxx. It looks old and I knew instantly it would be perfect for my natural tablescape.
Let's close the curtains and light the candles!
How romantic is this!
It would be so romantic to eat under the tent with the curtains drawn and the candles lit. In reality, it was cold and windy when I photographed this, but some warm night we will entertain friends and I'll recreate this au naturel and al fresco table setting again.
Ooops! (notice the matches)
Party table, burlap tablecloth, wicker chargers and rug all from Ballard Designs.
Wine stems by Vitrocolor, plates by American Atelier, and chandelier are from TJ Maxx.
Linen napkins and matelasse placemats from Tuesday Morning.
Silverware and cachepot are vintage.
I'm linking up to Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday.

Thank you ladies for hosting!
Delores, your outdoor au naturelle table setting is gorgeous as always. I would die to have an outdoor area like that. I have those same chargers, but I got mine from Nell Hill's online store last year. I love them. I absolutely love that cache pot. Great use of burlap with the linen and white and then the leopard rug. I can't believe you found that chandy at T.J's. You still have cool nights. That would be so grand. It is hot and sticky already here. I hate it.
Very calm and soothing table, Delores.
How beautiful! The entire setting is divine! I love all things burlap, what a great tablecovering! Great job!
Your setting is "naturally" elegant, Delores. Thank you!
I love the chairs! Beautiful setting. You really are an inspiration. Thanks
beautiful, i love natural colors and settings~
You always have the best tables! Love the vintage cachepot and all of the burlap. Plates are gorgeous too!
You did a beautiful job with the au naturale tablescape. It's lovely the way the textures play off each other. I think white and neutrals are always so classic looking. Love the idea of the tent. I may try to incorporate that idea on our lower terrace. Thanks for sharing this table. It's always a treat to visit Vignette Design. ~ Sarah
Wow, I can't tell you how much I love this! I love your outdoor area, and those curtains on the patio are just beautiful. You really did set a wonderful table. Love the color and natural look...it is so elegant. I like the matches too!
I just love the coziness of it all, with the curtains and chandelier...very inviting! This is my first visit to your blog and I can't wait to have a moment to return and look at all of your other tablescapes!
Please send those chairs to me ASAP, for I must have them. You see they are so beautiful I have fallen madly in love. lol :)
I really love the whole tablescape! So serene and lovely. It is just my style.
So gorgeous, Delores! It looks so refreshing and relaxing and the background is just beautiful. The candelier is perfect!...Christine

What a cozy setting for such an elegant table! Your color combinations reflect my homes colors...white, tan, cream, cream, cream. LOL
Love the juxtaposition of the rough hewn chargers against the beautifully carved plates. BRAVO!
Oh my....its rare that I am speechless...but WOW!! This could and should be in a decor mag.it is sooooooooooooooooo lovely! Thanks for the inspiration! All the best,Chrissy
Delores, This is the most beautiful, serene and fabulous table I have seen on any blog!
The work that went into putting this together must have been intense! I have so many questions. Where did you get the curtains? The tent? Is the tent a permanent thing you have there? It is in such a beautiful setting.
I love the chairs and the way you recovered them. They fit perfectly with your beautiful table.
Did you make the tablecloth? It is perfect!
This is such a treat and delight and should be in a magazine! I'll be back to this post many times.
You make burlap look absolutely elegant.
So beautiful and elegant! You're ready for a magazine shoot with this lovely setting! The color scheme is serene, and I love the mix of textures.
Oh my Gosh!! I would never leave that spot!! It is beautiful!!! Those chairs!!! Oh my gosh those chairs!! I LOVE THEM!!
Love it all!
Lou Cinda ;)
What a pretty setting!
Beautiful! So many great inspirational ideas too! Love it!
Love this table. The burlap and wicker is lovely. I know what you mean about the wind its still super windy here in the San Joaquin Valley. Can't even set up a table with out the tablecloth becoming a sail!
I was taken in at first by the color scheme but I love all of the details, the burlap, those chairs are fabulous, the flowers with the burlap tucked inside. All of it is perfect. Love what you do.
Delores, I love everything about this table. I'm collecting a few burlap items myself right now...hugs ~lynne~
First off I love everything you do! But you have gone on a whole new level now!!!!!
I loved everything. The chairs, rug, plates, chargers, candlier, glasses, etc!! Perfection!!!
Delores, this is so simple yet so elegant. Just lovely. I hope the weather changes and that you get to enjoy it very soon. Love those rattan charges. You bring some of the Ballard items to life. I'll have to give their catalog another look. If you're an avid Ballard's fan, you should know they're having a 15% of everything salre right now.
I'm hosting a new meme, "Summer Sundays" and it'a all about what summer means to you - like a beautiful evening poolside? Hope you'll come and join us.

I don't know anyone who wouldn't love to dine al fresco with you, Delores! What a wonderful mix of the more rugged burlap and the textures of the chargers and pretty plates.....all complimented by the lovely chandie and the daisies. It has all come together under your inspired gaze, as always!
This appeals to me so much. I love the subtle colors and the textures. Just lovely!
I love how rich the color combination is and how meticulously you carried out your vision. It's stunning.
Such a lovely space you've created, love it all, especially the drapes! Wonderful blog!
This is quite possibly my favorite!!! I would really love to share a meal in this idyllic setting!
What a beautiful place to eat outdoors...and it's in your own backyard!! Your garden is so beautiful as well! Thanks for sharing all this inspiration! ~ Jojeana
P.S. I love your blog and have enjoyed browsing through older posts. You left a lovely comment on my blog about my kitchen (thank you!), but your kitchen is so much more beautiful!! Now, that's how is done when you don't have a tiny budget! :)
I'm a new follower. Have a great day! ~ Jo
I absolutely LOVE your tablescape. I actually bought a HUGE bolt of burlap so I could make a round table cloth. Have made a burlap pillow and the burlap skirted slipcover but have not attempted the round cloth yet. Did you make yours? I'm on Ballard designs right now ordering those chargers. They're great. Your garden is so lovely and so is your blog.
Delores....this is just a perfect setting for a perfect quite get-away! Love this so much! I love the texture of burlap and this captures the softness and casualness of this overlooked fabric. My first "drapes" in our first house were burlap with Ethan Allen dark pine. At the time it was so cozy but have to say dark pine is sooo not me anymore.
Love all you do,
"Unsurpassed talent", that is what you possess!
You set a lovely table!
LOOKS LIKE CHARMING AND DELIGHTFUL DINING TO ME.
VERY COZY, ELEGANT AND PRETTY TABLE WITH GREAT SURROUNDINGS. I WILL BE RIGHT OVER!! LOL
Very beautiful and relaxing setting you've done Delores. Yes, you're a very good interior and outside decorator. I love the sorroundings and your mil's center piece pot, I have one very similar with pink roses around it, that we made in our ex-ceramic factory...I also like the chairs very much, they go so well under that tent.
