There are two bedrooms in the main house at our home in the wine country.
This is one of them, complete with upholstered walls in a playful stripe fabric.
The previous owner upholstered the walls of both bedrooms and the sitting room. It gives these rooms literally a quiet and calm feel.
Looking up at the unusual shaped ceiling, you can see why this reminds me of a circus tent!
This bedroom belonged to their little boy. I decided to keep the stripe fabric and just work with it. I kept the bedding neutral and picked up the colors with the floral duvet.
One of my "favorite things" is this antique seagrass table next to the bed. We found it at an antique store in Sebastopol.
Both bedrooms in the house are en suite.
I like this little bathroom. There is only room for one person, but it packs a punch with the large subway tile and black granite accents. The shower curtain is terry cloth.
This is usually where our overnight guests sleep as it's fun sleeping in this room with the "circus tent theme."
I'm linking up to Laurie at Bargain Hunting with Laurie for Favorite Things Saturday.
Thank you Laurie for hosting!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Your guests must feel truly blessed. What a lovely place to stay!
Love the stripes,of course!!! I think it looks so cozy but every room in your house looks so cozy to me. I loved your comment on my Fashion Don't post. I like the idea of being in the control group. I am right there with you babe!! Happy Weekend Kathysue
Very unique with the ceiling done like that, too. I love the lamp over the headboard. Can you tell me where you got it? Love your seagrass table and your bedding. Looks very comfortable for guests.
What a cozy and inviting bedroom! It feels very English to me...love it! I LOVE the foral painting on your nightstand, too...so pretty.
I hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

I love the circus tent feeling in the bedroom...I acutally have a page ripped out of an Anthropologie catalog of a vintage looking tent...it's pinned to my inspiration board...and I love it.
cute room, but i am loving that new header!
So....This is where I'll be staying! Loverly!
Love your new header too!
Another room where I'd love to be a guest. Love the tent feel, and I'm so glad you kept that wallpaper. (What a job that must have been to wallpaper that ceiling like that!) Your bedside tables are perfect, and I love your marble lamps. You are so good to faithfully link to Favorite Things, and I am always so honored to have your posts as part of Fav. Things. laurie
Hi Delores, I hope you are having a great weekend. I can't imagine trying to upholster the ceiling...what a job! It looks great and your bedding is perfect with the stripes. I also love your seagrass table and the rose painting.
I really like this room! I would not have changed it either. It's so fresh and neutral...the perfect decor for guests!

Really very pretty!
I love your new header too! I love your style! Can you tell us where you bought your beautiful bedding
.......what fun to be your guest under the big top Delores! A lovely room and stripes are perfect for the ceiling shape. Love the table too.
I'm still busy posting about Africa, only halfway done - in my mind I'm still on safari and need to get it all written down and photos added so I have something to always return to (along with my journal notes).
Love the new photo for your header - such a peaceful spot. Enjoy.
Hugs - Mary
I love your bedding (the white) and the seagrass table! Are'nt you glad those stripes are neutral and not more bold for a little boy! LOL! This is a fantastic room that I am sure your guests will remember and enjoy!
I can certainly see myself staying in this beautiful room. All of your beautiful touches would make any guest feel comfortable..
It is gorgeous - I love the stripes and that antique seagrass table looks perfect.
this is beyond words ... you KNOW me don't you???
your taste is impeccable
What a huge undertaking that wall treatment must have been. It is lined up so perfectly.
You have elevated it way past the circus tent status.
What a wonderful room...I love that the walls and ceiling envelope you while looking up from the bed! Such a lovely guest room you have created while working with the exisiting wall treatment! Your new header picture is breathtaking! Always a treat to visit your blog..I'm catching up as I just got back from Santa Fe.
When the room is unfurnished all of those stripes at different angles could be unsettling but you have really made it all work. Lovely, really.
The furnishings look great with the stripes. Fabulous job. Such a beautiful guest accommodations would make it very hard for me to want to leave. Thank you for the kind words on my table scape. We were at the Haight street fair today which was a lot of fun. However, I am so happy to be back home.
What a cozy room to snuggle down into! You've make it look so warm & inviting. I think the walls add wonderful interest & you've worked with it beautifully with the gorgeous linens you've used.
♥ all that quilting!!
Your new header is just delightful, Delores!! Such a beautiful location. *sigh*
I love how you mix and match. You have a great talent. Thanks for visiting all my post, talented and sweet...
Where did you get the flora blanket and sham? It is beautiful.
By the way, the header is so much more you and your blog. Thumbs up!
To answer a few questions about my sources: I found the duvet cover at Tuesday Morning several years ago. The tan shams are Ralph Lauren, found at either TJ Maxx or Marshall's. The cream matelasse coverlet and shams, as well as the headboard lamp are a recent find from Tuesday Morning. The painting is a vintage oil. All the other accessories such as the alabaster lamps and candleholder, shell book ends and box are vintage.
You are right - the stripes are very soothing. I love stripes and a bit of floral!
Beautiful bedroom...what lucky guests you have! I can't imagine the work that went into upholstering the walls...unbelievable but fabulous!!!!!
Love the beds - did you order yet? I think the prices are quiet reasonable too!
I'm running behind this week, but wanted to thank you for leaving a comment on the China Room post at Atticmag. I think you really need a room like that!
Beautiful room!! Love the stripes and the floral bedding is perfect in that setting.
