Today is all about pool houses, cabañas and pavilions. That's right, we're having a pool party!
So grab your swimsuit and prepare to be inspired by these little architectural gems.
Architectural Digest
After all, it's the peak of summer and we could all use a little dip!
Make that a "design dip!"

What fascinates me so much about pool houses is how they have to blend architecturally with the landscape, the existing house and pool.
Architectural Digest
They can have many purposes, from being a refuge from the sun, a cabaña that serves as a guest house, or a party pavilion. The list goes on and on...

Most important though, they serve as a focal point and anchor for the pool.

The ultimate pool house: Bunny Williams' with it's pine cone studded pediment and log columns.
Last, but not least is our pool house in the wine country.
Originally, it was the vision of the previous owner, drawn on a napkin.
It serves as an outdoor kitchen, living room, bathroom and upstairs bedroom.
If it was the only house on the property, it would be ok!
Architect John Keenan said, "If a house is a novel, then a pool house is a short story."
I couldn't agree more!

i have always been wild about pool houses... especially yours!
How lovely your pool house is - what a perfect place to entertain. All fabulous examples. My current favorite is the Gil Schafer one in CT that was recently featured in Architectural Digest - John Cottrell designed the interiors - it's stunning!
Halloli!Alle Häuser sind einfach wunderschön,ein Traum!Schöne Woche wünsche ich dir.Bussi.Lu.
GM D Oh my so much eye candy. Love them all and yours looks like a picture right out of Architectural digest!! Kathysue
Those pool houses are to die for! The final shot was not disappointing in the least... it looks so inviting. I can see why you love it so.

Yours is the most beautiful of all the photos. Can I live in your world.....for a week or so.....I guess one can always dream.
Oh my word! These are too beautiful for words.....so many gorgeous ideas and inspirations!! Definitely bookmarking this post, to come back to. This will be a real treat to see during the dead of winter!
You do the best research. They're wonderful. I'm tucking this one away for my bucket list!
PS Your pool house, my favorite!! WOW!!!
I'd take your Delores, just beautiful, great post as always
I love them all, but yours is a favorite! I do like the idea of them being multi-functional. What a great use of the same space for a guest to use! I love the one from Elle Decor too, the dining separated from the pool is smart and a comfy casual area to set in between!
We have been dreaming of a pool and pool house for several years now. It would help us tolerate the long hot Louisiana summers. You pool house is over the top. Love it!

Love all of these; but yours is the best! We have a loggia next to our pool, and when I see this series of photos, I want to add a fireplace!
Each one offers a bit of magic. I agree, if all you had was your pool house, you'd still have a terrific second home. ;-)
They are all gorgeous and yours is my favourite. Lovely excape in the middle of winter here in South Africa! x Sharon
We are in the beginning stages of planning for a pool. Your post now has me thinking I need a pool house too! Anything you'd do over if you could plan from scratch?
Such beautiful pictures :)
The first and the one from AD are my favorite. Thanks for sharing.
