Our gourmet club has been going strong for over three years!
Even when one couple moved to Chicago, we still managed to get together.
It's fun to meet ahead of time, plan the menu and decide who is hosting.
This time, it's our turn to host!
Silly me. Nothing like hosting a dinner party a few days before Thanksgiving!
What was I thinking?
Oh, I know...
I wanted to have a reason to set the table and create a tablescape.
After all, it's been awhile since I've done one.
I have to admit, I'm a bit rusty!
I started creating the "scape" with a harvest theme in mind. That's what our menu reflects, so it makes sense to carry it through with dishes that depict a farm scene with garden tools around the rim.
The dishes sit on top of two chargers: purple cabbage leaf and brown leather.
Grain sack placemats with a purple stripe keep the theme rustic.
Brown floral napkins keep the theme romantic.
Purple, brown and green.
This tablescape is not finished yet!
As you can see, I have a few more pieces of silverware to add.
And most import of all.
The centerpiece!
Our gourmet dinner is Saturday night.
Stay tuned for the complete tablescape and the fantastic menu, including recipes.

What a lovely table and I love your pretty dishes! Everything is now ready for the turkey! ;)
Be a sweetie,

The table looks great! Think of it as your "trial run" for the holiday next week! Have a great afternoon. - Tonya
Your tables are always so gorgeous, Delores. Of course, you know I love the purple transferware. I collect Rural Scenes in the polychrome brown (I think you do to, actually!) but I also LOVE the majolica chargers underneath. SO pretty! Your napkins tie those goblets (I have those too!) beautifully with the plates. I cannot wait to see this finished and find out what is on the menu.

Hi D!! so beautiful! I love when you add the color purple to your table. It is so unusual to see purple transerware and they way you present it is so lovely.
Thanks for your visit today on my blog. I have to say Ina Garten is as charming in person as she is on her show. What a fun day I had meeting her!!

The colors you used are wonderful. I did a purple Fall table last week. I need your glasses.:-)
Gorgeous table, as always, Delores.
Hmmm, I don't think your tablescaping skills ( I think I just created a new word. LOL) could be rusty at all.
So far....so pretty.
I love transferware, and this pretty purple pattern is gorgeous. Can't wait to see the final results.
Love this table scape, where do you store all of your beautiful plates and glasses?
Delores, this is a gorgeous combination. The Pastoral Davenport is a lovely pattern and perfectly paired with the chargers. You've not the least bit rusty! The burlap place mats are a fabulous detail for the beauty of this setting. Can't wait to see the finished table. ~ Sarah
Delores -
I have this transferware, too, and it is my very favorite of all of my transferware. I especially love those borders, don't you? I have never seen those purple cabbage leaf chargers. Where ever did you get them? Good to see a tablescape from you! You do that sooooo well.

How gorgeous is your transferware. The color scheme is beautiful...
I don;t think you are rusty at all, your tables are always beautiful! This one is no exception. We are hosting our dinner group this Sat. too, AND it is our 45th anniversary!!!!!!!!!! Should be a fun night. Our first guests in the new house!!!! XO, Pinky
Oh my goodness. Purple? And those placemats were just made for those dishes. I have seen purple transferware but I have never seen the purple cabbage leaf chargers. Amazing. So beautiful! I can't wait to see what lovely centerpiece you create.

This is a beautiful table. I have the green Bordallo chargers, but this is the first time that I've seen the purple ones. They are quite special. Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Happy Thanksgiving! Cherry Kay
Delores,
You are so talented! I love your tablescapes! Enjoy your dinner with great friends.

So gorgeous, you are not rusty, and you used my fav color purple!
After I used my energy to do this, I would be calling for take out!
I am crazy about those placemeats! Actually the whole thing! I wonder if those are still available...any idea? I am not much of a placemat person but those are fabulous!
LOVE these dishes!! Especially the red colored ones!
